Learn how to do it really and then go from there.

Objective C for OSX, Java for Android/Blackberry, get a book or look for online tutorials.

If you're looking for the fastest, easiest route, something like Titanium Appcelerator will get you going.

It sucks, and teaches you nothing about development/coding, however you can push out simple apps for mobile devices that are "cross-platform" (some events and other niche things between devices won't work) with a bit of JS and HTML knowledge.

You would need to learn programming languages and paradigms. You'll need to learn Objective-C for iOS, but some knowledge of C will help so much. The C Programming Language by Kernighan and Ritchie is really concise and definitely worth the read. Not sure about Objective-C books; I took a 3-day workshop on iOS development which helped immensely and went from there (with knowledge of C/C++ from uni).

Go with android. More noob friendly.
Android goes with Java - larger community, more books, more web tutorials.
Thinking in Java is great book for Java basics. Then take one book about Android to learn some basics. Then online documentation/tutorials because its really unstable and almost everything is changing beetween versions.
