- Ability to define a group of players (my friends or the participant to a tournament) and see them ordered by the rank. This would be cool for online tournaments, to make seeds, and for players to have a feeling of where you are among your friends.
- Ability to publish lists for anyone to see. This may come handy for tournaments, for e-dramas, and much more.
- Ability to do players searches by waves of opponents-expansions (level 1: my direct opponents, level 2: the opponents of my opponents, and so on). Again, the search result ordered by rank. This would help finding players nearby (ping-wise), and with close skill level.

- On-site tournament/ladder/ranking systems, social networking advancements (in a broad sense, that would even include advancements in the clan system to promote clan-vs-clan interactions), Community HUB features to tie community activity into the site, streamline site usability, and probably a couple extremely noob friendly gametypes that may or may not interest users on this site, but would certainly grow the player base.

I think the idea would be to rank players not on their performance against others (elo) but their average scores in matches, then assign a rating based on the average strength of players in the game they have just played.
The score based on caps, defends whatever.

If it takes this for you to quit, you haven't been paying attention.
Even if the game got everything it needed, there is no way to bring back the 99% of players that the game has lost. It's not just an uphill battle, it's a damn near 90 degree incline. 99%+ of the players that have tried QL have left the game, and it's twice as hard to bring someone back than it is to get them the first time.
QL closed beta had the exact same player retention rates (except among people who went out of their way to try it) that we're seeing now, and the number of players on day one of the open beta don't even remotely compare to real AAA titles. QL never had a chance

is also used as a rating system for multiplayer competition in a number of computer games,[1] and has been adapted to team sports including association football, American college football and basketball, and Major League Baseball.
Made some minor tweaks to prepare for Chrome support.

You know, I remember these days - I know you certainly "kept it real" but also I know this game meant a lot to you.
Things were different back then; your posts mostly were good and useful.
But these days, as I said, a lot of the stuff you say sounds superficial and frustrated.
You said sync's wife "blamed" failed devblock promises on bethesda.
Doesn't this only show that the QL team would like to make certain decisions that they can't because bethesda doesn't let them for surely understandable reasons?!
Do you remember the devblock post where they said that they were going to hire new dev team members? The time radix and braml3tt joined the team.
They are not on the QL team anymore; because apparently things regularely change at bethesda and id;
Things that SyncError or anyone else can't influence.
That might also be the reason for your so said lack of communication. They can't promise things that they might not be able to implement in the end because of business decisions that are out of their hand.
Maybe you should rethink your methods of "helping" this community; get away from your biased position and get a more neutral view on things.
It's not like I agree with every decision they made for QL. I disagree with a lot of them actually; especially regarding maps. I'd love to see new features, just like everyone else but I don't think laziness is the reason why we don't get these features many people request.
However, instead of looking for someone or something to blame,
I'd rather like to see a strong community that stands behind the game they love rather than being opposed to it. QLranks.com is a perfect example.
