An incredibly satisfying and deep RPG experience with a neat multiplayer aspect.

im stuck at the same one as you i think. gotta get 2 humanity points and upgrade the bonfire so you get 10 health replenishes instead of 5. game is much harder than demon souls now that you cant cheese with grass

It was an epic sentence and gains a certain gaming gravity as I know nothing about Demon Souls.

Is it really worth the time? I've been reading reviews for it and it certainly does strike everyone as 'difficult' I'm just wondering about the rewards.

My PS3 has been collecting dust for the past year..

If you have the time it's worth it, if not then you'll likely get frustrated and shelve it.

You can't just pick it up and play for an hour here and an hour there, you need full concentration for several hours to make progress.

I really doubt any casual player will continue playing once they get cursed and discover how monumentally screwed they are. Curing a simple curse is more intense than most single player campaigns these days.

Well I am casual in the sense that I only play when I'm not at work or studying but then again I do also like to pour hours into games (best time sinks).

So I think I will pick this up, sounds like a good way to destroy a lazy sunday :)

So I never really understood this very hard but not unfair thing, yet the reviews of this game seem to say it. Isn't it like playing ql against some super pro and getting ownt? It is fair in the sense that skill is decides who is the winner(assuming this is true), but isnt it still super aggravating and frustrating?

game seems kewl, but I can't help thinking it will be super annoying, plus not having played demons souls and having bad memories of dmc owning me <_< (though in the end dmc was vry fun..)

The only frustrating part is the sense that you are stuck with respawning unkillable enemies on all sides of a path that you have a subtle feeling you shouldn't be on yet. But goddamn when you finally kill these fuckin wraith knights and titanite demon it's fuckin awesome! You are now the master.

I think I might be totally fucked, my good weapons(read: the only ones capable of killing a boss in decent time) are all on the verge of breaking, the closest blacksmith is ludicrously far away, I have to trudge through a scaffoldy base of trolls and golems and instant death falls to get to a poison swamp which poisons you when you enter the water(all the fucking time) with respawning flying fuckers and slugs.

I have no moss the get rid of the poison because the nearest bitch that sells them is 'at least' 2 hours away through a place that took me a whole day to clear the first time, then i would have go back, effectively undoing all that progress.

I don't know where to go, I have a vague feeling I should be going down and through the swamp, but it's fucking huge and I get lost immediately then slowly die to poison, thanks poison resist gear.

To think there are noobs who find the Capra Demon impossible is utterly hilarious, they have no idea.

took me about 15 tries to kill the taurus demon. finally did it last night. now im in an area with some armoured boar. finding it hard to get humanity so i can upgrade my bonfire. 10 health refills would make everything muchos easier

Run up the ledge by where the boar is and plunge attack it a few times, someone probably left a message of the exact spot to stand for it.

did it then some tower knight from that building beyond destroyed me. fun and frustration mixed together

You need to collect the impacted goats tooth in hyrule and give it to the randy monk who unloads a +10 wad of monk juice over it and plant it in the witches sandpit till a vine grows and you climb to the next level.

Bought this in the Steam sale over winter and just got a receiver to hook up a 360 controller to the PC.... wow what a game, haven't got very far yet but loving it!

Best game of the decade...

i wouldn't know, can't launch it in windows 8.1 without doing some elaborate fixes to enable GFWL that i shouldn't have to do, waste of money

and the sequel out soon looks to be even better!

DS is as hard as remembering how many reps i did. and i do a lot of reps.

the start is good, but later it gets easy. ow and basiclly its : think of a strategy, die, go try another strategy.

The whole gym thing has got boring fast mate but atleast you have some new youtube channels to watch while dreaming of getting ripped.

Dark Souls has nothing to do with strategy lmao...
It's just about learning patterns and apply the solution. And boss fights are more about endurance than anything else, like... roll, then attack perfectly 40 times in a row...

There are pros and cons to the game, but overall... it's better than 90% of the game that came out during the past 10 years.

Clocking in 1000 hours or more across the franchise, I was a nonbeliever for the longest time and really struggled to like it.

Dragons and skeletons and shit just ain't my cup of tea ya dig? But it's different with this game. Kinda like a David Lynch movie, it's all about the atmosphere and emotions that it evokes.
