I find funny when people makes these installers and says they are legal, or claims Q2 or cpma are now free. Read the licenses!

inside you can find media (textures, models, sounds) from other artists they did not allow their use.. even some of those artists modified some copyrighted content from other games which makes their work illegal

Infact, the "raw=1" feed is identical to the ETQW masterserver, and so there were no code changes required at all to support that master (with the other changes that had already been made to make it configurable by .xml file).

I don't think there are too many good "modern" Q2 GL clients that run on OSX AND are universal binaries, but if you can find one I could maybe give a hand :)

Well, I've played Q2 since the release, so I have it! Been playing with standard textures all this time! I'm using "set gl_coloredlightmaps "0.20"" to make the textures more greyish.

u might have some other packs with /baseq2/textures. MAke sure u check all paks and delete textures and keep it in only 1 pak

I played it for 30 minutes and didn't like it at all. It was FFA but I can at least say that that game is heavily rail abused.

No, in q3 are much easier hitboxes Bullz.

It's because Q3 predicts the weapon fx client side and it gives the impression of being instant, so a feeling of being easier. The impact, tho, is exactly the same. But sometimes the fx, like in this case, can help aiming better by making the visual feedback more reliable so the player has better chance to correct his aim.

careem i can't see the weapon enemy uses. it's only shotgun. cl_vweap doesnt seem to work. the server is in tourney mod. didnt try with any servers other than the turkish one.

That's what I wrote before, actually its no needed to replace autoexec, just modify (set controls etc..) in cfg.cfg and it will work.

I know id is too lazy to sue you, but that doesn't stop me from hoping it happens.

Well guys, I don't really know if this is the best place to ask, but since ESR community if far more mature than my former CS community, I will try:

I just got back into QW like 4 months ago, and this Q2 release got my attention. After installing I got a black screen (due to refresh rate incompatibilities) so I changed the set vid_optimalrefresh to 0 on the autoexec.cfg, but this only made me able to see the main menu/console. After joining any game I get that black screen again.

WinXP sp3, amd proc. 2gb ram, 7800gtx.

ps. Refresh lock didin't help either.

U get black screen because of monitor Hz. Your monitor doesnt support Hz at this resolution u get. Try with reforcer to change the resolution for your monitor. Or try to change resolution in cfg. Gl_mode 3 = 640x480, gl_mode = 800x600.. etc.. gl :)

The strange fact is that my crt monitor supports 150hz all the way up to 1024x768 and 100hz until 1280x1024
I had refresh lock setting everything at 100hz and even doing that I still got black screen.

np, i meant reforce to change Hz and gl_mode 4 = 800x600, now i noticed those mistakes i wrote! Well, hf playing q2 now! :)

i really like the textures and great work overall, only thing i'm not so keen on is the crosshairs. can you point me in the right direction so i can make/find something more suitable for me?

also i couldn't force the gun viewmodel to be shown via console, am i doing something wrong?

I can give you some sites of crosshair pak's. For weapon models try, hand 1 / 2 / 3 - fov 90, but it should work with every fov in R1Q2.

That "virus" you all were talking about is from the "Anticheat.dll".
I have submitted it to Avast and maybe get to the bottom of this.
I cant do anything with Norton etc unless YOU submit it as a False Pos+ yourself to your antivirus provider(s).
