as non-pro ctfer: why are those maps not good?

Siberia is power-up all-in, then whore mid until next power-up. I personally don't think it's a bad map, but that's probably why most don't like it. Shining Forces is just awful, even more so with 4v4. Huge map. One power-up. Can defend for a fortnight. Nothing but rail. Blah blah blah.

But I guess if you wanted to play 8v8 ctf with randoms and shenanigans neither would be bad choices.

tbh i'd replace siberia with courtyard, after the rework it's a really nice map, and replace troubled waters with finnegans.

since this is a draft cup i wouldve gone with reflux instead of siberia.

Tough doing actual leagues here in the states due to lack of teams. Starting these off with draft cups first in hopes some actual teams emerge from them.

Well I'm sure you know better than me since I'm not part of the QL scene but I know I'll never get involved in it either with only 1 day or 2 day events. I'm only interested in longer leagues since I get to know my team, play more, and practice. As an outsider who would be willing to give QL another chance short events hold no interest for me.

If everyone does that and just waits, there won't ever be any teams.

Maybe, but there is a QW Draft 4v4 TDM going on now which is the first 4v4 TDM tourney in 5 years? and it's doing quite well. You never know what is going to work until you try it.

You use Orbb's picture on that page to monitor everyone who goes on it but does not subscribe. Finals never happened due to the teams not able to get full rosters to play at the same time within a week. Draw as of now =/

Was a good cup but it seems like all theses tournaments end the same way it coming down to the finals and the dates to pushed back ect and it's never played. At least set a time and date and have a winner if one team can't showup too bad enjoy 2nd place we need to start having these thing finish one way or the other.

Dunno whats more sad; That it is commonplace for QL tourneys to end like this or the fact hardly anyone notices when they do. Nice effort tho D:
