The MX300 has higher 'perfect control' when the usb port is overclocked to 500 Hz. If you don't noticed anything wrong with the G1 sensor, then you don't really need the MX300.

What could be 'wrong'? I haven't bought anything yet..

Haha, funny coincidence! I had exactly the same struggle choosing between these 2 legendary mice. Found a player from CPM (gaiia) who was willing to sell either one of his MX300's or the G1's, the MX300's being 2nd hand and the G1's brand new. In the end i picked the G1 because he asked way to much for the MX300 :P and because it's untouched. If you wait a few days i can tell you how smooth/precise the G1 sensor feels in my eyes... coming from a IME 3.0 so i know what to look for in a mouse's performance...

Okay, just got the G1 delivered at my door, turns out it's a fake 1000dpi version, probably like the ones you see on eBay... i can overclock it to a very unstable 750hz (which a real G1 can't even do) and ingame it's pretty much unplayable :( huge jitter and random twitches all over the place. This really dissapointed me, i was looking forward to this mouse, especially now that i've felt the shape, it fits so perfectly in my hands :( ah well, still got my good ol' ime 3.0

Both G1's i gave him were the newer version of the mouse. I didnt test them. I'm sorry to hear that newer ones are so bad and dont work out for you :(

No, the ones u see on ebay with 1000 DPI are real ones. There are still new 800 and 1000 DPI G1's on ebay, which max out at around 425 hz, after overclocking. I still have the ebay sellers, if someone wants to know which are 800/1000 exactly, pm me.

Yeah you could be right about that, after some tests it turned out that this fake version actually uses 900 dpi. Could you pm me a list of those potentially trustable sellers of the G1? Don't really care if it's 800 dpi or 1000, just want to be sure they are genuine, don't want to make the same mistake twice.

G1 has better feeling than MX300.

S2020 in MX510 is quite better.

But you should buy WMO 1.1A or IMO 1.1A (if you want side buttons). They are without prediction and the best feeling ever.

800 dpi on the mx300 is just interpolation with the drivers and adds crazy kinzu-esque accel

I checked those eBay 1000dpi versions of the G1, and the cool thing about those is that they use the logitech MX510 sensor, so afaik it should be capable of doing 1000hz, almost too good to be true!

What it doesn't mean that all mice with ADNS-3060 and OS MLT 04 are better.

Ok so i got myself a 2nd hand mx300 and a brand new korean g1 for 50 euro from some guy selling it online. Pretty good deal if you ask me! Anyways thought i'd share my insights about these 2 mice.
The korean g1 is very lightweight and feels kinda cheap, however the sensor does it's job. I tried overclocking it to 500hz but as expected it got stuck at an average of 450hz. The mx300 really blew me away in terms of... well everything. Even though it's 2nd hand i still prefer it over the new g1. It's got more weight to it, just enough to 'feel' you got a mouse in your hand and not too heavy. Tried overclocking it to 1000hz which didn't work, it got stuck at an unstable 650hz, so i put it to a stable 500hz and voila, best feeling ever! The mousefeet from both mice are default stock, however they feel quite rugged and i think they will last for a while. My conclusion: if you are willing to play with a 2nd hand (cant get a new mx300 anymore) mx300, grab one if you can. If the seller asks like 50 euro for it, then go for the korean g1 which usually costs around 20-30 euros. Good luck!
