I could do ,9 too cos before we got a 5" drive, we primarily used c64 tape player/recorder. It still astonishes me how much games/programs a tape can contain :O

don't go the old console road, been there already with the SNES ...
it's not worth it, emulators have better quality ...
for the psx there are good emulators available

Saturn from purely collector's perspective is more interesting, but the top games are disproportionally demanded against a small supply, so after initial investment for saturn package with 10-15 games for maybe 100 euros the road gets much tougher. Panzer dragoon saga - 150 euros. Radiant Silvergun - over 100. Deep fear, batsugun, mr bones, battle garegga, burning rangers, shining or whatever series the rts-rpg-series is, guardian heroes - all way up there, around 50-100 bracket

he already said chipped psone, so he could get a chip for saturn or do the swap trick with the old model.

I understand the charme of originals but in those cases at those prices my greed wins over nostalgia :>

Chip is for imported games. He clearly wants collect games.

You can do whatever you feel like, I don't feel like wasting any more time to you.

I went through this a while ago, best thing i found is, buy a few classics, most of the games are average, but set out to get 5-10 per system. Then you can get a really good collection over several systems with the shit people who appreacite it will care about, cos you will want to show someone and keep it under a £1000, which isn't a lot over a period of years.

Try and get jap stuff if you want to be exclusive and ultra harcore.
Radiant SIlvergun etc. VF1, Virtua Cop, HoTD+gun, get bass etc.

I would say the saturn, 3DO, jaguar would all be awesome interesting machines to collect for. I never hit it off with the PS1. As its so mainstream everyone will always recall it.
But I would still getearly launch stuff like Ridge Racer, wipeout, tekken, resident evil etc.

But the less successful machines like 3DO, SATURN, JAG will IMO be more special. The most important thing about a collection is exclusivity.

Think I'm going with the Saturn, it's much harder to emulate and the exclusives have more meaning.... Such as radiant silvergun (which the guys selling for £80 if I buy his Saturn!)
