Serious suggestions:

A website promoting all ql community made material (maps, movies, links to qlprism, memento's spawn web-apps, twisters game analysis etc etc)

A blog would make sense for you also ;)

A mockup brand/site for bst's new mouse, would be fun for us to give ideas and see what the community would actually like to see in a gaming mouse brand, presentation wise.

Starting with a blog since it's the one of the most basic database driven websites, threaded comments are a bitch though. (anyone?)

I don't really intend to spend much (or any) time on the web design, since it can just as long to get things right.

An esr-type site but with hardcore moderation to weed out any and all lc/nc. That would be awesome cause then the only way to build a rep is to be a sensible poster. This ofcourse implying that a few number of top users were to moderate the site which could prove problematic. But that's something high on my wishlist. Esr just seems to be too deeply infected. It still serves a purpose but the community needs something serious to bolster the status of e-sport.

And my clan needs a web page :>

That's far to big a project to do in a week plus I'm far to inexperienced right now..

Also, I don't want to spend much time doing any design, purely development.

Sounds like you already know more than most people who call themselves web designers. Just get some real (small) clients and learn as you go.

p.s. why ASP?

I'm not so good on the design side of things (though I really haven't put much effort into it, other than learn html/css/javascript). I know what looks good but actually making a nice looking website from scratch is a bit different.

Why ASP?

To begin with, I liked how easy it was to get database driven websites up and running in Visual Studio. Now I stick around for things like Intellisense and Razor, plus I get about 3 or 4 emails a day with jobs for ASP.NET C# in my local area. So when I'm eventually decent enough I'll start applying for junior positions.

no clue, asp.net is best for web applications. For web sites might be too much and certainly not the easiest way to start.

That's what I'm talking about, applications rather than static sites.

Just do a for sale portal, or some site where users can easily customise all the fields.

So they could make a dating site, or a for sale site, or property site etc with next to no tech skills.

Just upload to the server and let the autoinstall do the rest while you fill in the fields like PhpBB or Invision Power Boards.
