I see what you mean, but it should be noted that such works like Robin Hood, etc. were written centuries before copyright laws were even thought of (earliest work was in 1450). Therefore, ATCA or other copyright bills technically should have no effect on such things.

I don't see the problem with this. This just makes international prosecution of copyright infringement more viable, and directly targets the people who do it.

They are broad bills that invade in places that have nothing to do with actual piracy.

The fact that this "agreement" is adopted in times of economical crysis when population is suffering already from lack of money and unemployment, suggesting that on top of this the population should pay more money for software and movies, just shows who's part are the legislators and how out of reality they are

I find it amusing that this ACTA act is coming just a few days after I have been making the following remark:
"There should be applied financial measures (punishments) for the people whose goal is to impose censorship over the Internet, for every unsuccessful attempt, else they will make regular comebacks with the same claims, only every time the claims will be formulated in a different way."
I say this on 21st January and they vote the ACTA act on 26th January.
