Why do I have a feeling that both these people think they're good at Quake but are both really awful.

I would be very suprised if Notch is actually any good.

We skyped about it and decided to do the match Monday 7 PM GMT+1 (which is noon CST). 3v3, either q3dm6 if we want fun, or q3dm17 if we want insane.

Well yeah, you can hardly expect notch and the likes to pick a competitive platform that suits, if you don't mind me saying that, real quakers.

I'm more concerned about not picking QL in the place of Q3.

Whatever might it be, a 1on1 duel or 12on12 battlefield shootout, it could have been a relatively good promotion for QL since so far it had next to none.

Minecraft has a huge fanbase, I'm sure at least a few poor souls would find it entertaining and possibly watch/play it again sometime.

reddit.com shows all categories/topics, for easier browsing select the TOP tab, to see the most upvoted threads (or best threads, every use can downvote or upvote a certain thread) then there are categories which are called subreddits /b/nsfw

the sad thing is that they dont promote that in any way. they make it so hard to find any interesting subreddits that arent fucking huge already. i bet 80% of their visitors dont even know that there are more subreddits besides the one they see on the default frontpage and if they do they wont discover potentially interesting subreddits without using an external site

@ Six16 "why not?", because it's going to be noobs playing noobs (in 3v3 tdm, possibly on dm17). I don't think that will 'promote quake' so much as confirm people's opinion that its just a crappy old relic of the past.

i've done that a lot of times with good players from some games in the pt scene, but to try the challenge they would have to pay 5E, i won about 40E that way!!
