We will listen to suggestions but please think about them before posting, cause usually every change has a new downside. We've been thru several changes already and think this is the best solution.
And its overall very hard to think about improvements without playing real people on it.

so to hear gong you need to enable all ambient sounds?
and what's the point of this gong? to deprive possibility of getting rail without being caught for just spawned, out of control player for which this rail is much more important then for player in control? IMO just remove gang, make it spawn every 5 sec and reduce ammo even more if you want. And mb add ammobox spawning every 30 sec?
The idea was to have another item to time and choose to attack or not etc. As I said in the vid, both players got the time of it, once someone picks it up. Personally think it adds something to the game, but only a proper duel will tell if it works out or not.
Well if u look at the map, its big and open and the whole time watching the intro vid I was thinking to myself, wow the rail is going to be the key weapon. But the fact it has a long respawn, not much ammo and u can time it easily adds another focus to the map since its an important weapon.
Seems pretty nice, but I agree that the gong sound should be removed. A good player is just going to get away, and plus I doubt it is strictly necessary for balance reasons, since plenty of other balanced duel maps also include a RG. As long as it's in a vulnerable position and not too close to an important item, it shouldn't be needed imho. Plus the RG itself emits an ambient sound while it's being held.
BTW, since Domination was released, do you plan any Domination support for this and Limbus? Up to you, but I think it'd be neat and might give you more of a chance to have your maps added. :)
I still think the 1min rail gong adds something to the game, but if its onesided rg domination, we will remove it of course, still would like to see it played first, I'll try to fix something.
Once they 'took/added' the maps they can use it for domination as well, doubt they would need my 'go'.
I think you, akm , bst and all others who made great maps for ql for free should expose id to ultimatum - they release all of those maps in one month or never!
As I've said before I think this is real quality work; the layout seems to flow great and is rich of vertical elements.
I have some concerns about the item layout but you can never really tell without having played the map against human opponents anyway.
I'll share my thoughts anyway:
- the 1 minute RG might result in the out of control player having difficulties getting back into the game; RG is often used as a defensive weapon in duel to keep your opponent on a distance when you are not stacked enough for close range fights - now it is rather easy to time and control the RG which I could see turning out bad
- GA and YA might be too vulnerable positions; it looks rather hard to steal them without taking too much damage... I'm not sure though
Why isn't this majored btw? Are TDM maps worth any more than duel maps!? I don't think so. :p
Well, cityy, I suppose TDM maps might, in fact, be worth more than duel maps. If you do the math, TDM could (potentially) have many more players (i.e., many more PAYING premium/pro players), and therefore make more money for id. Which leads to the question, "how could duel become more profitable for id so we get more duel maps?" I'm not sure of the answer, but it's just food for thought...
Looks really nice, good job guys, I can't wait to see some games on it. It will be interesting to see how the railgun stuff actually plays out, but it's a cool idea.
