edit: gave it a second chance. Editing is good I guess, but frags are very, very poor. Also you used a contenders 2 song.

you are a bit strict with it dont you think ? im gonna judge the movie by "simple fragmovie " standarts.
the general style was cool
i liked the music and i dont give a fuck about contenders
the animations are well done the frags are in parts poor but i could find some hot shots.

-it is entertaining
-u clearly put effort in editing
-some nice frags

I give every frag movie an 8, 9 or a 10, based on if I watched it completely or not (main criteria), frags, innovative editing, and q2 movies always get a 10.

Got bored at the middle (-3), frags were quite bad (-1), editing wasn't original though it wasn't bad like lee's movies (-1), and it wasn't a q2 movie lol. In short, I didn't like it, so it isn't a passing grade for me at least.

its always interesting to hear how people judge a movie and then see what they vote. personally i would only give 1 out of 10 movies an 8 or higher. if you give an 8 to a movie like this the scale becomes quite useless imho.

like i said low skilled movie makers will be judged with other standarts than video artists. take the same video published by some unkown player 8 published by KOS 4. judging all movies by the same standart is unfair towards new movie makers

Well what can I say? If you think that my frags was really poor you are in mistake. Why I think that? If you going to make comunity frag movie you will get 50 the best frags from maybe 20~25 person? I know that not all frags was deadly hot. I have seen diferent frag movie from this forum, and i can say that my frag movie wasn't worst from all avalible movies. Another thing as I said contenders 2 was for me inspiration well why I shouldn't use song? Thanks for profesional opion about my movie mouse* you said what was good, and what I suppose to change in future if I'm gonna make another movie.

That was pretty good.

I don't like the fact that you used Hip-Hop music because metal is the only thing I like so you should use that.

The frags were pretty good but you could have gotten rid of some and made a shorter and more impactful video.

Effects and cfg were alright but the cuts were too large (meaning the scenes started too early) and the transitions were non-existent.

I see, but let me guess guys if i will make next time shortly movie some people will start talk "love this synch, but movie is too short for me" I didn't spent long hours and days on editing. If you will check my previous movies you will see big progress. But I'm really happy that some people loved it for diferent reason. Anyway guys if you like full over edit movie check clips on yt from counter strike source :) It is very popular now

Also how come those 4 things are ridiculous. Length is crucial (in every aspect of life), and so are video quality, music and who's making it (reputation is something you earn for better or worse. Length plays a part there).

im sry but i have to disagree in every aspect:
1.
my latest movie "their base is safe" is a good community movie. the download quality is perfect no way to argue about it, the content is pure quality and the music fits!
yes a minority of people has troubles playing it thats a codec issue or those people have an old or weak pc. also youtube has issues presenting it in its original 1080p and it doubles the video for some reason. however the movie is absolutely decent. and btw i am proud of the movie cause i delievered what i promised:
a not overedited action fragmovie

2.
a fragmovie no matter how long it is can be freaking awsome no matter if its 1 minute long or 18 minutes.

3.
a video in hd quality no matter how "bad" the hd is has an acceptable quality considering 90 percent of all viewers will watch it youtube sized windowed.

4.
soundtrack is always a matter of taste and i dont care if its a 100 percent overused song if it fits it sits!

who gives a fuck about esr ratings its far from objectivity :) their base is safe on youtube 13923 clicks 117 likes 16 dislikes not a single bad comment about it.

if you make movies to get positive response you have the wrong attitude anyway. cba really. but if you take your job as fragmovie critic that serious u should maybe do a movie yourself to proof you know your business :)

Please guys, don't fight. I just want to say one thing, even some people don't like my movie I have to agree with that. But I made good decision puting movie here. I have at the moment above 1000 views in only 10 days(Almost 900 views in 2 days). Where movie is avalible on forum from tuesday? For me is big succes and number of view is still changing :)

Music was alright, but you really shouldn't use songs that were previously used in a known movie, or any movie at all for that matter. That might be a strange unwritten rule, but come on, there are tons of amazing songs out there.

The audio was a little bit out of sync with the video, but it's close enough for most to not notice. They might've noticed if you tried to sync more frags to the music, that saved you a bit there.

All the recams, felt awkward and forced. If you don't want to spend time on them to make them look good, then in my opinion it's better not to use them.

In my opinion, the worst part of the movie is the content, first of all, it took me a couple of views before I noticed that it's a CTF only movie. Everything aside, there's not a single flag run, I think that's just ridiculous. Most of the rocket frags are just spam rockets that hit someone flying out from the main base entrance, etc.. The fact that all of the frags are from public games where the teams are almost always bigger than 4 players doesn't help at all. There are some ok midairs, some rails and what not, but they're in the minority. There's no real flow in the movie, it gets boring quickly for the more demanding viewer.

On top of that, the intro/outro animations are almost a copy/paste from videocopilot tutorials/resources. There's no creativity involved whatsoever. Even the intro cams are just copied from the middle of the video. The only good thing about the intro/outro is that they're short.

Visuals - config, colour correction, video quality - they're all fine.

Next time, spend more time on picking the right frags, add some flag runs. Maybe for a difference ask friends for their demos and feature more players than just yourself, that adds more diversity. Don't force effects into the movie. If it doesn't feel right, don't use it. Try to sync as many frags as possible to the music, even to the main beat of the song. Pay attention to when clips start/end, sometimes it feels like there's still something about to happen, but it doesn't and it feels awkward.

Thanks for putting your time into making a movie. Better or worse, it always promotes quakelive.
