If you see the
ESR users page you'll notice that 3 ESR poster's popularity counts are way above the rest.
MrE (of
Battlefield 1942 Bible and
Novel Idea fame) is out ahead with
87% popularity and an amazing 533 positive judgements. With the next chapter in the works, I'm quoting
MrE as
20-9 favourite to hit 95% before anyone else.
Next up is
CarMac with 445 judgements received,
85% popularity and a lot of controversy :P.
CarMac's column,
opinion and frequent news posting have put this llama commie UT player in the #2 slot. I'm offering initial odds of
20-7.
Finally we have
if22 whose rise to #3 has been very sudden. Interviews with
Daler and
Fatal1ty have seen him putting up some big numbers - 115 judgements received and
70% popularity. Another big interview could see Lemmy hit 95 before the others which is why I'm quoting odds of
20-3.
To save this bet from being screwed, I should probably add an "other" option - with
Sujoy,
Fred,
kageman,
NoDnO and
buq. all hitting popularities in the 50s. I'll quote them with initial odds of
20-1. The ESR ratings system is designed not be screwed with so it's unlikely that there could be any bet rigging (tho I'll delete the bet if I see any).
This is in no way a cynical attempt to get more people to rate ESR posts or to force if22, Carmac or MrE to produce more articles so that they can make a fortune in ESR$... honestly :)
MrE is out ahead with 92%
Carmac is still at #2 87%
if22 is stuck at #3 70%
I've noticed some attempted vote rigging in favour of MrE although its been minor so far. Bear in mind that MrE is unpredictable and could be offended by this, doing something drastic like [+]'ing CarMac a few times. If if22 were to do the same (with Sujoy or buq.), I think we'd have a winner in CarMac - and @ 13-2 odds too.
Carmac just leapt 3% - now at #2 with 90% thanks to a judgement by MrE and the NGI LAN coverage. This race isn't over yet. CarMac's still got a lot of fight left in him... and maybe a column or two.
MrE is out ahead with 92%
Carmac is still at #2 91%
if22 is stuck at #3 70%
Please be advised that this is a long term bet as it may take some time before there is a 95% popular ESR poster...
