Since this is a hardware forum, nothing shows more hardware then your computing setup!
Post them!
(I dunno if it exists a thread like this, delete mine if it does)
There's a CRT on my left, a CRT on my right, a tower at my feet and a laptop in the middle. I can't take a picture because my only mean of taking pictures is through my laptop's integrated webcam.
Please note that what you see in the middle isn't my actual laptop, which was in my very hands when I took this picture. It's a broken laptop someone gave me. I had some fun with it... if you look closely you'll notice that the frame is empty. I thought it would be a good idea to put it where my laptop is usually. Yes, I hope to buy an adapter to be able to use the screen one day :).
The keyboard (and mouse beside it) you see in the first picture are connected to the tower with the flashy colors. Same for the right CRT. I just got them back after a lot of years; they were accumulating dust at my dad's house. The tower is on Windows XP (for now), has a 868 Mhz Pentium III and 256 MB of RAM. Now that I think about it, I should probably steal its WMO 1.1A to play QL... but now I'm used to the laser mouse... The keyboard, however... Gonna think about it
Yes, I play QL on the laptop. It sucks but far less than the desktop computer.
I play QL on the left one. At first I thought it would be awkward to play on the laptop's keyboard and another screen but it's not. I move the laptop much closer to the screen, though. When I'm not playing QL or doing some programming, the left CRT displays MIRC. I intend to use the right one (along with the tower) as a jukebox. But yeah, the main stuff is done on the laptop's screen usually.
Those are Superlux HD668B's, you don't really need a good amplifier for them but it would definitely improve it.
Personally for the Superlux HD668B's you need a good equalizing set-up and settings, the bass is there - just really really quiet, definitely needs equalizing on that end of the spectrum.
that setup holds u definately back.
have you tried cloth mousepads(QcK) actually with the WMO ect.?
it should give the more of control u are used from the ballmouse, but offer alot more smoothness and consistence.
I don't feel bad with it at all... but I'm starting to play again with the 3.0 and qck pad cause in dh I can't take my ps/2 mouse, don't really see a difference in my aim tbh
In comparison to the old, I've got a new mousepad (SS QcK+ Fnatic), new monitor (Samsung 2233rz) and new speakers (ALTEC Expressionist Ultra -MX602). Picture is taken with my phone so quality is not that great.
Well not as important as a mousepad imo. Back when everybody used CRTs you could simply ducktape the cord to the monitor :D and some people aren't distracted by the cord at all. I like it with the cordholder because like this my cord doesn't get suck in every possible location.
Mascottes, actually. :p It's a bit messy but fuck it, it's for watching porn, playing games and getting inebriated on particularly boring evenings, not holding business meetings. :@
My wife left so I said fuck it and made our 42 inch flatscreen part of my setup. Pretty awesome for watching streams or netflix while I'm playing a game or working.
I actually bought two of them - one about 6 months ago and the other a year before that. Nothing on Puretrak's site seems to indicate that they changed them, but the newer one is about 3 inches wider and 1.5 or 2 inches deeper. I don't have the old one to compare it to anymore, but the new ones are definitely a bit larger.
The new one didn't come with a sweet lanyard like my old one did either. I was disappointed because the Puretrak lanyard on my keychain right now is getting pretty ragged. :(
WASD,CTRL and SHIFT modded to ghetto reds(mx-blacks with the springs of MX-brown) on the filco with all keys silenced and reduced to half of the traveldistance, and the G400 modded with omron D2F-01f switches and the cable of a Diamondback/Copperhead.
original cable was a bit stiff.
so with the one i use now, i can position the mouse anywhere on the mousepad without the cable pushing the mouse back to an area of ~15cm where it is free to move.
i replaced the switches because i liked them in the kinzuadder and still had them laying around.
the right button on my g400 was a bit loose, and the d2f-01f are a bit bigger so the button sits firm again.
just make it a bit wet, and you get everything as clean as possible, and you can wash it in the machine.
I bought one more than a year ago, and it still does what it's suppose to do after washing it plenty times already.
It's a Corepad C1 Large. I can compare with Goliathus Speed only and it has a little more friction than Razer pad when both are worn out. I love the larger 'height' and thickness. But people strongly suggest Puretrak Talent for AM (if you like low friction ofcourse), so if ordering online and waiting a bit isn't a problem for you then get it, best deal type of a pad.
