I'll remain with my statement that you have a strange memory... or perhaps you don't have a clue.
When the patch where movement got faster was released I was really crap for a few months maybe even a year but that was only due to me not being able to get practise in. Before that and towards the end I was fine....

Of what value are those memories of being this or this good at specific times? I always imagined those to be detrimental to anybody reaching for the top, which I imagine you sort of are.

I finished top4 in lots of cups in the first few months of q4, like those ingame cups and some jolt tournaments) I didn't manage to win them though but I was really consistent and did end in the prizes a few times (in jolt and some other random cups).
Problem was that I didn't get a sponsor who noticed that so when I had to do a lot of stuff for school I kinda dropped quake and only played a bit of random games.
During that period they changed the movement etc. such that the game suddenly was becomming a lot faster. I tried to get 'good enough' at it when NL got an eswc qualifier but failed due to the messed up poule system used in the NL-qualifier (and because I hardly played) -> stopped again.
At the end of q4 I had some time again and I think I got top4 or smth in one of the last clanbase cups basicly only losing to HELL and in some other online (somewhat crappy) tournaments.

Had fun here and there? Great. Finished high up in a tournament? Great, this proves you were good enough for that.

But "I was good at these specific times"? Or, even worse, "I was good but as I hardly played, I didn't achieve what I could have achieved"? I don't think that's good for your competitive mindset, and arguing about that with internet randoms isn't going to make you better. Nor in reality, nor in anybody's perception.

But the thing is I remember pretty much everything. Especially positive stuff I did myself. So when someone makes a false statement about me I'd like to correct it.

btw I'm not someone who regrets the choices I made. It's just a fact that when you play a lot you get better... I choose not to play a lot but do other things during most of q4. To say that I was bad at it is not true though (as evil thingy claims)

And what weird can pull off in predicting his opponent is way more impressive than you hitting 10 impressive's per game. I mean, that still seems to be your thing after all.

If you really want me to comment on the actual seeds though. I really see no one that should be seeded higher than weird and that isn't. Why whine about it instead of just going there to prove yourself. Hopefully you get in the same group as him and can advance easily right? ;)

ts is useless, as the higher elo you have - its harder to get decent game

Look at spartie for instance. And then look at killsen. I think it says something about who you are looking to practise against. Spartie is known to almost only play against top players, and killsen known for basically only playing noobs.

Calling it useless just feels like an excuse for your own high ts%. Reading into it TOO much is of course not something you should do either.

spartie doesnt pracc, he play some online cups once in a while[i can be wrong about it]
killsen plays a lot more, thus he gets to play against ppl who are worse than him more often.

could say alot of stuff about gamestyles and flaws in game but tbh seeds are just a way to measure things.. i know that for some it might seems to affect alot but.. if anyone is going to a lan is for 2 things.. to win or to have fun.

If your going to win you need to beat everyone.. if your going to have fun you can always beat the low seed and play a few games.. and hey.. atleast in this lan you have 1 garanteed win.. not very common considering the last 16 players exclusive lans.

And tbh only the top seeds are really scary .. if someone has practiced and is in the mindset to win a lan.. who cares.

honestly, i look forward to these tournaments just to watch him play so its a bit like part of my youth has died along with his retirement.

having said that, and looking ahead - if pavel can shake the nervousness quickly and get his aim on form, expect some upsets.

most looking forward to dahang vs pavel as that will stir things up, the next toss up is probably dkt vs weird which could probably go either way. winner will probably play gaurd schoot madix or pavel/dahang depending on who finishes 1st or 2nd, so thats probably the next interesting match up.

I'm cheering for av3k and cooller (who unfortunately isn't going, but...). I hope av3k won't dissapoint me with his performace as he did at some of the previous lans. He seems to be playing more than usually. Also gl to cypher, but... IMO there surely won't be any surprise. He will make finals anyway. ;) Godlike performances online, I'm not even trying to imagine what he will do on lan...

PS. DREAMHACK admins, please don't fuck up the stream work, and try to bring 2gd to cast as much as he can! There is no replace in the whole world for him, he's the best caster, period. Also do some second stream so we can see more games and not miss that much of the show.
