i tried to run 100 level cpma bots, but they never worked for me :/ they just dont load

i tired sarge, crash, keel and a few other bots, arQon bot is broken totally for me. others dunno

Are you on a fresh install? What version of CPMA are you using?

pretty much fresh install, 1.48

i ahvent played online yet, only made my own cfg and downloaded some maps, nothing more

what maps do you play? the CPM bots don't load on regular q3 maps. Otherwise, they work fine for me.

for some reason default cpma bots don't seem to work properly for me, most of the time they just run around shooting with mg - which is still quite challenging as they hit high percentages, but not what is expected of them, i think. anyone know how to fix it?

They rewrote the AI after 1.39 IIRC. For VQ3 the > 1.39 bots suck, especially the newest releases which mg all around, for CPM they seem to be fine.
So best thing to do is to have a separate 1.39 installed.

Join an online server and wait for HAL_9000. Play cpm24. Closest thing you can get to playing a hardcore bot.

bulat played frog bots for nearly a decade in qw aiming laggy shaft until he got a connection and started hiting 40-60% online before anti lag was introduced.

Why play a bot when you can play a player?

No matter how good a bot is, it'll always suck vs a player unless you simply ramp up its accuracy/reaction times and even then, its navigation lets it down.

Any ideas how to make it work in CPMA/VQ3?

CPMA bots work best if you create a dedicated LAN server and than join it.

Play online, create, dedicated: LAN, choose your bots,open another client, play online, servers: Local, than join it.

For VQ3/CQ3 do /cv startweapon 511. The bots play fine if they start with all weapons.

If you are a quakelive player you might want to /cv gameplay cq3. It's more similar to the vql ruleset, most importantly rocket speed.

Play against players, dont waste the oportunity of others (me) cant get.
If you can, play against people, its a whole new experience, the bots do a lot of flaws, mine just killed themselves sometimes with the rocket.

In my area there are not many CPM players (ie. zero :D) so I have to play against bots. I hope that Reflex is going to change that.

Bots won't load in cpma vq3 and none of the jump pads work.

A lil offtop: how to activate god mode in cpma botmatch? Setting sv_cheats 1 in console and type god but it keeps tellin that this cmd is server protected or smth.
