Hope more people see this q2 frag movie.
+ very promising intro, music/theme blend well
+ familiar but pleasing character skin pak "Borderlands" style; cool wall texture glow and weap intro blurs too.
+ wide variety of frags from an equally wide variety of weaps...seriously, no other quake lets you use real, timed handgrenades for frags...q2 forever

- despite 'cato dm1' in description, just awfully weird to see Edge modded with two q3 jump pads, absent elevator to GL and particularly the boost pad@SG hall. Results in more air frags but feels artificial.
- a bit long given the one map restriction...different music needed to move it along -- something with a faster beat for the last half.

Well I don't know catodm1 because my q2 background is entirely tdm/duel, which never uses non-competitive maps like catodm1. Also considering there are at least 64 Edge remakes out there...well...that speaks for itself.

well done, lacked a bit of rhythm due to the whole movie being in slow motion but it was enjoyable.

the reason why i posted it in here is because it was not posted and alot of people didnt even notice it cause it came out at the same time as HunFun by dud4,and for quake 2 it is kinda new since we rarely see new q2 movies plus,Quake 2 allways need some promotions :)

lots of frags seemed staged, or are against total noobs because no one goes into jump pads like that, stays still for no reason, jumps towards weird places and so on.

With that said, I always give q2 movies a 10 and staged ones a 0. Also I don't really like that much slow motion nor posting "old" movies that are 10 minutes long featuring essentially one map, but I can't give it a -2.

"...because no one goes into jump pads like that..." well yea. The only people that would use a jump pad, i.e., catodm1, are players getting material for a frag movie. The reason I don't know catodm1 is that 100% of all tdm/duel leagueplay uses the original, competitively-designed q2dm1 Edge map.

Those cartoonish cell-shaded weapons and enemy models make a nice addition (warsow kind of graphics) is that some kind of downloadable pack?

As much as everybody is entitled to his/her opinion, I really don't think this frag movie, honestly and with some thought, deserves a "0" Hard to imagine why anybody would troll q2, but could be disguised jealousy.

staged frags means it isn't a frag movie, therefore 0.

I can watch 40 mins long frag movies with slow mo and motion blur, but staged frags (or made against total noobs) can't be higher than a 0

i understand what you mean, but as soon as you see 'catodm1' in the description, you should expect planned frags...kinda reminds me of what the NA clan [xeno] did so many years ago: julios/dysing and their mates basically FFA'ing and camming all the great frags.
Your criteria made me reconsider the definition of a frag movie which I think breaks down into three varieties:
1. Pure) Competitive scrimming or official leagueplay used as source material.
2. Stilted) Gameplay initiated solely for collecting frag movie footage.
3. Staged) Actual gameplay orchestrated to create frag movie moments -- much like a film production company.

I think Ven's movie1 is a mix of 2&3.

aesthetic wise i liked it (the look and music), but the frags are kind of training / jamming on the map. show real cool frags in your next movie please.
