I don't think rigid keys are going to cause pain in your wrist. Tilt your keyboard or change your bind layout imo.

the keys are also causing some minor pains in the joints of the fingers. I do play russian style but i keep my wrist and arm level to the keyboard, if you can understand that.

when i play it's more pronounced and i don't type russian style ofc. The keys have gotten worse as far as actuating. i cleaned out the movement keys and still pretty rigid or hard to press.

Sounds like your "russian style" has been doing damage to your hands for years and only now you're beginning to feel it. My 2 cents.

russian style should be even more ergonomic than normal style, with the keyboard further down.
the ergonomic recommendation is to have an angle of ~100° elbow to upper arm with keyboard use.

it's a lot more about your hand position and angle than the keyboard. But there are alternatives, for example flat keyboards with scissor (laptop like) switches or cherry reds.

Cherry Red is not a bad idea. Or some natural keyboard.
If you have a shitload of money, PCD Maltron's are the way to go.

i ordered a razer Black widow and will see how it turns out. It has the blue switches and supposedly the actuation force is 50g compared to 75g of G110 as i read.

I have the Ducky Shine blue LED with cherry browns. Feels gud man.

I've had the G110 too but it was just too damn big with those extra keys and other useless crap. Cherry browns definitely require less force than rubber domes on the G110. So get browns or reds if you want less force than G110.

I also have the Steelseries 7G (raphas's keyboard!) with blacks and those need a bit more force than G110.

As others have said maybe you just need to change your arm or keyboard positoins. Could be also wrong chair height.

shit. Is the actuation force needed really discernible between brown's and blue's? The razer Widow I ordered a bit ago uses blues. In part I got it because I used to love the clack of old keyboards back in the 90's. I read that brown's are indeed easier to press but don't make the famous clack sound and so i was inclined to go with blue's.

Thats right browns are easier to press and not as loud as blues. Razer also makes Black widows with browns.

keys are not the only thing that matters. PCB and overall build quality are of the essence, which is why you don't buy razer products in general.

I found out 4 of my friends are using the blackwidow and are content with it. I'll get mines
tomorrow and see how it turns out. It'll be my first mechanical so I think it's good to get a feel
for them. I am planning on buying a more expensive one later on.

The Microsoft Wired 600 keyboard i recently bought requires nearly no force to press the keys. I havent yet tested it with quakelive, and nobody has replied in the "cheap ass keyboard" thread their own experiences. Maybe somebody will do it here, if its good to play quakelive?

Damn,... I noticed that also recently (y'day) that geekhack is down =/ I wanted to check out the results for the Sidewinder X4 how much x-kro it is or was it nkro? And if there are some keys who can cause some blocking of the transmission of key input signals!? (rows/columns in the keyboard layout)

First 2 google results say it is full nkro. You should search a bit more though.

But rule of thumb is you don't buy gaming keyboads, because it's not all about the keys themselves and having nkro.
Personally I use one of those at home exclusively for gaming (roccat arvo) only because I got it absurdly cheap and it's tenkeyless. It's one of those pseudo nkro keyboards like you described but I haven't encountered problems so far after 2 years or something, and switches are better than rubber domes but not mech.

quick update: i just got my razer black widow and it feels and sounds like a dream. I'd forgotten how lovely the clack'in sound is. atm, I'm just chatting with it and man, how awesome. it's kinda like an experience. Now I see what all the fuss is about. I definitely type faster now and the keys are easier to press for sure. bbl spraying cum everywhere!
