So, since I'm going to qcon this year I finally decided to get a new set of cans, something I've been meaning to do for ages. The ones I have now are semi-open, so they leak sound and provide no isolation whatsoever (I can actually hear my box-fans which are not that loud).

I was looking at the audio-technica ath-m30/m35 and the jvc ha-rx 900. Both seem decent cans with the jvc being slightly more expensive (and also a lot bigger). I was thinking of doing the labtec lva-7330 boom mic mod on whichever cans I get.

I was wondering if anyone has tried either of the cans before and/or the mic mod. Any other suggestions are also welcome. Thanks.
