They did a decent job at retexturing it - they even managed to leave most of the placeholder model as-is, with only a few minor modifications.
It'd also be a great nostalgic trinket to toy around with for the Quake II / QuakeWorld aficionados. It may have seemed cheap to be able to pull yourself wherever you wanted, but it literally added a whole new level of skill to old-school CTF, and mastering the grapple was essential to being a good CTF player. A lot of players would love it.
The trade-off to that, however, is that you become a very easy target since you're essentially traveling in a straight line. Grappling from the one rail on ctf2 to the other side may seem simple enough, but more likely than not someone will spot you and immediately rail at you (or some other hitscan weapon) while you're still pulling. Not to mention that the chain still has to travel itself first, and you may get fragged before the hook manages to reach it's destination. (Say, an enemy goes to the other RG and spots you)
Quake 2 CTF with the grappling hook is the best CTF mod ever,i dont know how it it will be in QL but let's hope that they dont make an another Premium mod which will end up dead like Freeze-tag,or just make "the new mod" premium and make freeze-tag or DOM for free.
