Bought Samsung 2233rz last year, sold it recently after buying a 21inch crt. Crts are much better for gaming. The benq is probably the best all round flat panel.

But they are fat as hell. Im happy with my 2233rz. It's smooth as hell. Of course I miss the awesome colour quality of CRT, specially when playing dark games where black is very important, but the extra space is worth it for me nowadays. I dont care that much.
My eyes also feel more relaxed.

Soon any atmospheric game that is worth it will be compatible with the Occulus Rift so.

not sure, but the angular resolution of your eye lens is about 0.5' which would mean that at 1m distance to your monitor the maximum distinguishable distance between two pixels is about 0.15mm. in fact, most people cannot see better than 1-2' which translates in 0.3-0.6mm. on 27" that distance is about 0.3mm for 1080p and 0.23mm for 1440p. that means you won't even be able to see all the pixels on your 1440p 27" if you sit further than 1m away from it. you could argue that you sit closer than 1m distance so you get to be able to see the pixels at 1440p. this means you can't be further away than 79cm. at that point to look from one corner to the opposing one you need to move your eyes at least 40-42°. that's difficult. my 23" monitor is about 80cm away from my eyes, and that's already difficult. i play osu! on 1280x960 windowed so that the angular distance is effectively decreased even further.

i don't think higher resolutions or bigger monitors are needed, having higher refresh rates than 120Hz is probably not gonna make a difference, either. of course, the market is interested in selling new stuff, but i don't see it getting much further. they need more new innovations.

I played on a crt that did 160hz for like a year or so, and the difference was very noticeable from 120hz on the same monitor and other 120hz capable monitors. Although, being a crt, it's hard to compare that to any flat panel as crt monitors are still superior for gaming atm. I have no experience with this monitor that can do 144hz, but I'm going to assume it still would feel better than at 120hz

Anyone know anything about Yamakasi Catleap 2B monitors? All I know is that some can do 2560x1440 @ 120hz or higher. They probably have high input lag, but I could be wrong.

they're no longer available. they're meant to be low on input lag because.. whatever, OCN made something up. even if they were still available: do you want to buy a monitor with an A- panel from korea where there's no chance of getting an RMA done without issues? and furthermore, you want to overclock it to twice the rated refresh rate? you're bound to run into problems with it sooner or later. monitors are supposed to stay with you for many years so warranty is very important.

other than that, if i lived in korea, i'd buy one. if i had way too much money i'd buy a few even outside korea. with a few of them one is bound to be flawless :)
