We're trying to bring esports commentary to the next level. Streaming from your bedroom or communicating via Skype is not really pushing the standard forward.

I am not sure about this one... Well you could certainly bring tony or stermy or memento mori for a lot less and keep some of that money for other things, not only to feed the prizepool, you could organize some betting competitions through facebook or on the stream itself to get more viewers/subscribers.

Milan has a ryanair airport though, right? If the timing is right it could be pretty cheap to fly ppl over. Then again if they spend 400€+ per show to get the casters for the tournament to a studio that would be seriously disappointing considering how much more good that kind of investments could do to quake.

I'd say let them try this "professional" casting style. It actually was much better to watch than usual over skype conversation.

And that 400€ woul not save Quake because saving Quake starts from id Software not from these tournaments.

Personally I am playing just for the sake of participating, but 125$ is alsmost a laughable small amount. I would like to see a weekly prize, large enough that any top player would go out of their way to play every weekend, and actually practice to win it. I'm not sure how much would be needed for that though. 500$? 1000$?

In my country I can eat for two weeks (dinner+breakfast/lunch@weekends) with that money+the min. sallary is around 200-250$. I find funny how you call 100$ laughable small... when the player winning them stays at home and play computer game. )

The reward compared to the risk (chance of winning) is why i call it laughable. Players know that they would have to invest huge amounts of effort and time to feel confident in winning, and if they only get second place, they are left with nothing...

With a 1000$ prize you could divide it between the top 5 and give the players a realistic chance of winning and therefor motivation to play and train.

I don't know what you're on about with popularity but we're comparing the effect on quake between zoot casting faceit cups in milan studio with somebody and zoot casting faceit cups from his home studio with somebody connected over skype + 2 big lans a year. Or instead of lans bigger prize purse for the faceit cups (500$?) and thus more interest and pros playing. To me latter seems far more favorable.

I see where you are coming from. I'd have the prizepool distributed more because top1 prize will attract less people than top8 prizes.

Anyways, if this faceit show gets pimped out and starts forming a full professional package it will attract more viewers to faceit tournaments than zoot's homestudio ever will. Some big names decided to stop playing because qcon and DH is all we have left.

It does feel a bit uneconomical to fly out a couple of commentators every week, however it is the much better option in my eyes than to invest it in prizes.

Having a slightly bigger prize purse will not bring in a larger audience and is unlikely to boost the signups significantly. Sure a few bigger name players might enter, but Quake names don't have the pull with other communities they once had so the viewership will not increase.

I feel investment in production is a wise choice even if, in my view, this project is only using Quake as a beta test ground (which is perfectly fine and better than nothing).

They can develop the platform in a strong community that gives them credibility and an easy to manage, knowledgeable player base and viewership. Then once it is running smoothly use the foundation they have with Quake to spring board into bigger titles.

Part of this whole plan would be to produce something that seems really professional and serious, so a studio environment is a must. I think of it more as a marketing cost to show they have the clout to fly in casters and produce something a cut above than something that offers a tangible benefit to viewers (at the moment). If they have the right creative minds behind the scenes a studio environment obviously offers greater possibilities in coverage than a remote experience.

Honestly, from a spectators point of view (which I am), WHO CARES if Fazz/Zoot/etc. are live in a studio with a green screen or if they are doing it from home? When the game is on, I want to see the game anyways, not their faces. And audio is audio, no matter where it comes from.

Obviously I have no idea how much it actually costs them to fly in fazz and accomodate him, but its definately a few hundred bucks.

I, as a spectator, would MUCH rather see good players battle it out for a few hundred bucks, than only 100. Dont get me wrong, I am very greatful to be able to watch a 125 Dollar tournament. But it would be THAT much more exciting for a spectator if it were a weekly 300, 500, etc...

And obviously, its a lot more attractive for the gamers too.

So yeah, IMO it would be much better to invest this money into the prize pool.

I doubt that as well. Not that it matters right now:] Both options (for putting money into production or into prizes) have strong arguments backing them up. But i think generally the studio approach is a good way to go. It's quite nice watching quake tournament with good production value and it also catches the eye of an accidental viewer better than bigger names and larger prizes. Something pretty good and attractive may come out of this and I'm certainly curious what the long gameplan for Faceit is.

This may sound a bit weird but I really dislike the fact that this is a "studio show", especially when it's a weekly thing...production value is/looks way too big for a $100 tournament. Maybe have a 3 zoot-from-home shows and at the end of the month a "studio show" with top4 from last cups, prize could be $300-$400 here at least.

Don't know about BF3 players, but I watch SC2 sometimes even though I never touched the game and not planning to. So like, why not.

I really dig the studio stuff in SC2 streams, too, it gives it an esport feeling. I want QL to have that feeling too, so when strangers tune in, they see it's not just a random game, it's a competitive esport title. With real prize money and paid casters in a studio.

You cant see them if you are not registered and even if you register you have to wait for who knows how many weeks till they let you in . And somehow casters aren't allowed to show brackets on stream as they say? lol wtf is going on seriously?

We're still in beta, hence not everyone can see the website yet. As I said in the post, we'll slowly be adding people to the site and everyone should be able to play by the time the cup goes live. Casters are allowed to show the brackets, but the setup we had didn't allow it at the time.

As everyone seems to be concerned about our studio, I'll tell you what I can and am allowed at this moment. There is more to FACEIT than you can see now, we will be branching out in the future and the studio will be key in making this financially viable for us in the long term.

Please understand that putting funds into a studio show and not prize money isn't a decision made after a few beers at a bar. Thorough thought has gone into this by people successful within and outside esports.

As a temporary measure, I've hacked a site that shows brackets without the requirement to login - http://faceit-quake-live-brackets.appspot.com (currently shows cup 1, since cup 2 brackets will be available later).

Websites can now embed the bracket to their website. I'll also add it here on ESR when the bracket is live (if it's possible)

No offense, but the way the site is handled can turn off players. Registering on Monday and getting the e-mail 6 days later, 1 hour before the cup isn't really optimal, to say at least. Altough I guess it's related (in some way which I can't imagine at all) to the beta status, it's still bad because as it happened the registration didn't work either, and it wasn't fixed so I could've participated maybe. Now the first thing that would pop in my mind when I hear/read of faceit isn't positive because of the site. I know it's early stage, but fixing the site should be a priority, many people might just give up on first try and never come back.

I agree things haven't been optimal. The team will work hard to fix it all and make sure everyone can access next Sunday, and in time.

But anyway I've played vs people that have a far better rail aim than me and have been beating them for the simple reason that the map is not rail only. I can agree that having a rail in your arsenal when playing this map is essential but that's the case in pretty much every map I can think of, except for dm13 obviously.

Now tell me having a rail on aerowalk or furious heights or even ztn doesn't give you any advantage ? That's how ridiculous you sound dear.

Also I have been saying countless times how most 'pro' or 'top' players who play hektik simply have not understood how the map flows perfectly, so it does not surprise me that some of them play a rail-only tactic on the map.

OK here is a brief clarification.

There is "tactic" (or at least what I think is tactic) on every map. It just varies a LOT how much influence the tactic has on the outcome of a game. Probably most people would consider dm13 as the "most tactical" because they don't want to say its lame and +back. That does not by ANY means mean that I think its a good map. I think its boring and I don't at all enjoy playing it nor do I enjoy watching it.

But you (dem0n) said that toxicity is rush only and hektik is much more about tactics. Which I just can't agree with. In the last post we discussed that, I said tox is AT LEAST as tactical as hektik. (At least from what I consider as tactical)

So what is "tactics" in my oppinion?
Its not as easy to explain tbh.
But some points are
- Knowing when to attack and when to retreat. E.g. dont look for fights when you have far less health and armor
-timeing
-positioning in general and weapon choice in certain positions
-setting up traps etc.
- exit strategies
etc. etc.

When I look at hektik and answer the above:
- Its almost never good to retreat, because you can barely retreat or play deffensiv. (it is possible but far more difficult if not impossible against good railers)
-Timeing is not as important as on other maps. Because taking the e.g. the MH or the red barely gives you an advantage because you can do exit damage very easily.
- I think positioning is very simple on tox. There are few "good" positions (in general) and many bad ones.
- You can barely set up traps. Maybe camp the rail when you killed twister, because he will rush there first.
- You dont rly have an exit, so you dont need an exit strategy. Most fights end with a kill.

So in conclusion the map is very aim-heavy especially with the rail. Unforutnatelly I have no statistics about the percentage of raildamage compared to the total raildamage. But I assume that its around 50% (at top level) while on other maps the other (important) weapons such as rockets and shaft in general have a bigger percentage of the total damage.

If you would to the same for toxicity (or other maps, but I like toxicity more than hektik) MY analysis of these points would vary. Although I'd come to the conclusion that toxicity is STILL less tactical and more aimheavy than e.g. ZTN.

Nonetheless I MOSTLY ENJOY PLAYING HEKTIK, because Its actually fun (unless you get pwned against a pro). But I dont rly enjoy watching it. There are other maps like t7 which i dont enjoy playing at all, but I consider nice to watch.

Anyway. I'm OK that hektik is in the pool. I rather see that map in the pool than ZTN.

So far for my 'unqualified analysis' because according to twister you need a 2000 rating to be able to have an oppinion.

6'47'' cypher takes mega you take red. you hit a couple of nice rockets and kill him with the shaft at ya.
7'05'' cypher goes in with absolutly nothing but a shaft.
7'10'' you are trying to set a trap. but you dont hit your rails and your mega and red pickup are more than worthless. mega saves your ass in the process (ah yeah and a railhit)
7'47'' you dont hit rails, get hit and get killed. if you had hit the rail at red, cypher probably would have died.
7'50'' you go in with absolutly nothing but a rail. you hit 2 rails and get the kill. 39 hp left. spawnfrag with 6 hp left.
8'19'' tied for the lead. good positioning and bad aiming. but a kill anyway. (or cypher unluckily got bounced into tele)
8'25'' cypher goes in with nothing but a rail. but since you are railable its not a bad idea. he rushes you with shaft and get killed.
8'42'' cypher goes in with nothing but a rl. and forces you to mh. and he get killed (mainly because RA is so open) then he rushes you mindlessly. then he rushes you again with only rocket. i think the game is over.
9'37'' rail to rail frag. cypher goes spec.
20 rails hit 1600 of 4261 dmg with rail 1815 with rocket and 826 with shaft.

-So what I learn from this demo is: after you get killed go in with any weapon, if you just hit.

-Not a SINGLE trap was set.

- most frags were according to good aim, not traps not outtiming or outmoving your opponent. A series of good hits were the reason.

- maybe 1 or 2 mega pickups of you were good. The rest was more or less worthless, because nullified.

- a lot of the time, the guy who pickes up ra has less hp after the pickup because the position is so open.

- only once (your mega steal) timing to the second was needed or done.

- only once a retreat was successfull (and you did not get killed immediatly)


Did i miss something?

"you can barely set up traps" - CHECK!
"You dont rly have an exit" - Well most of the time you dont have one. But you retreated through the staircase towards rail. So it is possible.


So please get some ARGUMENTS and not just saying "not true", which is NOT an argument.

rly I have 9 on 30 rails and I got the score as low as 5-2 after 6 min of mostly cypher domincane (who has around 55 rail acc) and you say its allrail/cant escape... If you think you can't escape look again at around 45 min how I manage to get out from the RL area and manage to get myself with a decent health and armor stack....

Again I believe hitting your rails while your opponent doesn't should make a huge impact on any map really. If I'd hit 9 rails when cypher hits 1 in a span of a few minutes on t7 I'm pretty sure I would also turn things up a little bit.

Now cypher is a player I reckon that is much better than me. The fact that he dominates me railwise for the first part of the game and does not manage to create frags as much as I did after the 6th or 7th minute also enlightens one of my argument given above that I believe I understand how the map works better than most top/pro players (in this case cypher), atleast in comparisons with other maps.

I think e.g. I've played strenx about a hundred times on say ztn or dm13 or t7 and I barely won a couple of them, whilst I must've played strenx like 5-10 times on hektik and have beaten him on atleast half of those games...

And when you say that an effort to pickup mega's are nullified I guess you mean when I manage to steal the mega away from my opponent ? That could potentially be a good move if I know that mega will not endup feeding his stack, so I'm not really following you there.

Also I have a shit midterm memory but I've watched the game (without pausing every 10 seconds, I just laid back and watched it), and I recall you saying I once or twice went in 'understacked'. Well I'm sorry but I think you're talking at some point of the moment when I use a combo of shaft/rail and I don't go 'in understacked', I have an escape plan from where I stand and I'm playing with the positionning to try and deal as much damage as possible. That is something cypher uses a lot himself and I don't think that was a bad move at all.

---> nothing but a rail but that doesn't mean once again that it's a brainless move, you know the structure of the map allows you to do such moves. If cypher did hit a rail on me I would've backed off and found other angles after stacking up above 80 points of health.

1st line: True. Hitting rails SHOULD absolutly give you an advantage. So shoul.d having a better aim in general. But I don't think that a map is well balanced when everytime someone hits a impressive it should result in a frag. You should be able to compensate the lack of your aim with other skills. At least to a certain degree.

2nd No doubt about that you understand the map better than cypher. Cyper, especially while out of control, does some silly moves.

3rd: No doubt about that.

4th: Nullified means, you pick it up but do not come out with a bigger stack than before the pickup. In general on hektik (also on tox the red) both major items (or even the yellow) are easily attackable and you can lay down damage. So most of the time (not always) you end up with the same or even less stack than before the pickup. This does not in direct conclusion mean that the pickup was worthless, because you deny your opponent a major item. But it is on the other hand very difficult to build a stack and then go into a fight with a higher stack but less aim and still manage to win it. Compared to the tox game i posted, where you do exactly that. You build a higher stack (about midgame) and just overcome your opponent because of that. And you do not only rely on the fact that you hit more than your opponent.

5th: sometimes its good to go in after getting killed. I totally agree with that. But you (and others) spawn at rail, jump in towards shaft. And this position is probably one of the worst on the whole map. Because every exit can be attacked from the upper ledge. You were railable at a certain point and cypher goes in with rail (semi-infight). I can agree with that move, because with a kill he can nullify your armor advantage. And if you get hp, you have a big advantage stackwise.

6th: tbh going in into a fight where a different weapon (which probably your opponent has) would be better (e.g. shaft or rocket) is to me a dumb move. This is for me a "do or die" situation. I consider MOST (not all) "do or die" situations to be bad, because they mainly rely on your and your opponents aim. I see a lot of better players than I am doing such moves and if they would not hit, they were in a big disadvantage. The Risk-Reward is not balanced. You have a high risk (big disadvantage) with a potentially low probability (lack of weapons) to overcome your opponent. Such plays should (to me) be minimized in order to play SOLID. And especially aim-heavy players (like twister) do the complete opposite. This is TO ME the main reason he is not yet on the very top even with his aim he has a HUGE potential. But playing SOLID is important to win tournaments.

I wont do the same granularity of analysis because i'm going to bed.
but as far as i can say is

- retreating was much more succesfull and running away was done more and with higher succes.

- at least one frag of you (about in the middle) was done by constant damage and taking away items of twister, which I did not see in the hektik game.

- not a single trap was set (as far as I can tell)

- you aswell as twister went in sometimes, when I think "wtf are you doing" .. e.g. at the start you go in with only the rail... INFIGHT! .. well thats not very reasonable to me.

- in some situations i question your weapon choice. if you chose the shaft more, in some situations the frag would have been very easy.

- timing to the second is not too important on toxicity (i never said something else)



so as a conclusion from these two vods i'd say that tox and hektik are at least on the same level when it comes down to tactics (what you beg the differ)

I see lower score on tox (I have no statistics about the general results, maybe some supergeek can program a statistic of top players and total frags and frag difference of the maps. analog to e.g. sc2 or sc:bw statistics, which I think are very interesting).
I think the general movement is more important on tox even though I think the 1 (or 2) hardes "necessary" jumps for duel are on hektik (red to rail and green armour jump)
Positioning on tox is simple, maybe as simple as on hektik. But i think the main position on hektik is so obviouse while on tox there are some more. (e.g. center position to pressure ya, or defensive position near tele exit etc. compared to hektik where you mainly stand on the upper ledge when in control and try to do damage on your opponent while he is below you. maybe try to avoid that hes taking mh, thats just my point of view. the "only" deffensive position which is "good" is to me at the rail, where you can hit the guy going through tele)

Another point, on tox the shaft was more important. In general (from my experience in duels, and im only 1700 not 2000) the mixture of needed weapons is more balanced on tox than on hektik. You need all 3 major weapons, and even plasma is "important" (e.g. spawn at red), while on hektik, depending on your opponents gamestyle, shaft is not that important, because the positioning often does not allow, or force a shaft battle (same hight))

so... done.. a lot of ARGUMENTS ... please try to ARGUE against that and not only "no thats not true", because that is just stupid and not a discussion at all.

all in all I think I mostly prefer hektik because toxicity doesn't deserve such hype while hektik gets shit on and hasnt been in any pool for a year.

Then again, according to burnedd and a few others whove watched me play, toxicity may be my best map (aside from hektik), so well.

For me it looks the same pixel mess on both 360p and 480p and really laggy on best quality.

for me its pretty much the best streaming quality ive ever seen for quake. really high fps and crystal clear. must be either your bandwidth or routing :x

When was the last time you heard of someone not having bandwidth for a stream? It's 2012...

Anyway, it runs smoothly in best quality in periods but then suddenly starts lagging like crazy. Mostly its when they switch to the ingame footage after the studio view. In 480p its so blurry due to the full detail config that its hard to even make out the scores and close to worthless :/

You can hear the sounds from both players at the same time, despite they are on different locations. Kinda disturbing if you'd like to use these sound cues as to locate the enemy (from a specs pov). What lead to this decision to make it like this?

Well, it's quite understandable, he had to wait 4 hours for a game, while admin said to just wait, afaik at Zotac there was 30 min penalty. It isn't really "professional".
Instead of flying casters (especially autistic scrubs like zoot) who fill time inbetween games with same emo song over and over (and now just silence) they could invest into, i dont know, maybe site that works, streams that don't lag and admins who has some brains.
I hope they'll close this project soon or take some break to fix things up.It's better to have no tourney at all than a shit one like FaceIT cup.

I believe ins talked to him. The delay was because the bracket messed up and he didn't know who to play next. It was our mistake, and we had apologized for it.

I just think it was a bit harsh to kick the player out of a quater-final match for a bind 90% of viewers weren't uderstanding.
He was childish not to stop at some point, but the penalty could've been different.

they did great first time, now they did not... lets blame beta version

Obviously things were far from perfect. We realize that. But it is sometimes hard to prevent these things. We're not perfect, so we make mistakes. We'll try to better ourselves and the platform with each cup, and we'll work on getting better in between these cups.

We did a lot of cup tests with around 30 or so players. Everything went perfect and smooth, matches got reported, people got register without any problems.

To test if the site still scans properly for Quake Live results once they hit the "report match" button when there are a hundred people attending, you need a hundred people for it, because the API reacts differently when there are 30 or 100 people on the site.

We have been testing the stream and it was fine for all of us. The stream was fine for me both Sundays as well. It ran fine for nicer (from Ukraine), ins (Portugal), the guys in Italy, and like I said myself (NL).

The site going down was simply an issue that we were stretching the servers, and we allowed people on it too quickly. If we had waited a minute longer within turns it would have been fine.

And to test all those things above, we are in beta. Thankfully both betas were a success for us, as it gave us a lot of issues we could resolve for the full release, so people can then play on it without problems.

Faceit may have lacked some "professionalism" and the delay is unjustified. That doesn't however justify hopping around the server and insulting the admins, even after receiving several warnings.

the worst thing is probably they using ql to test things out, make everything set etc, (not to mention their money matches system lol), if it fails - no damage to their name outside of a small and irrevelant community, if it turn out good theyll just abandon ql. adding sc2 dota etc

We decided for QL because it's a game everyone loves in the team, not because we see it as a good place to invest in and get out quickly. We'll keep hosting the QL Sunday Cups and we'll keep have the Face N Go's and such open. We'll obviously will open up to other games, because we are trying to run a viable business too.

I am really pissed off at FACEIT admins. Running a tournament at a nearly dead game with 600 viewers on stream (even the lamest League of Legends streams now have 1000s of viewers) they think they can afford to kick a TOP player out? For a few words that 90% of viewers did not even understand?

Although I am not a top player myself and never stood a chance of winning anything, I did and was going to participate in these torunaments to support the project and the game I love.

After this incident, I am never going to participate again in boycott for the decision to kick Agent. I will also urge all my fellow Russians to do the same.

I was gonna say something like "oh, burn" but I think it's clear that you're in puberty, so your behavior is fine(we've all been there). Agent's behaviour however is not, as I believe he's out of puberty. So just sit back and go through the five stages of grievance realizing that the admins' decision was completely justified.

Player's behaviour can be a huge problem to the cup itself, when we made cpmfightclub #1 at early september, over 30 people signed up and it took hours of streaming for admins and hours of playing for few guys. The final was hal vs terifire and hal was leading with a clear advantage in aerowalk when he decided to start rushing without weapons and he even killed himself at the very last second so it wouldn't go overtime. Teri won the map and he forfeits the whole final. Such a lame way to end up one of the coolest cpm cups in ages.

You can't just give people the wild card even if they are top tier...

Also, I got nothing against hal... he's a cool dude and I like him, but just sayin'...

tbh that requires pulling off just 1 good show. Something memorable and advertised before hand that "we" will remember for years.

For example you could do a joint project with the gd studio, like their $500 QL cups they do from time to time plus $500 from 4 faceits (np if there aren't tournaments for a month, it is worth it). Or how about 2gd doing the quake lan he hoped to do some time ago (lets say $3000) + $1000 (one month without tourneys and $500 directly from ins pocket).

That means no technical problems, the best quake caster and if you are spending money on flying commentators then get Joe instead of zoot and fazz (no hard feelings :3). Then convince some classic players to do a one time comeback, like tox, zamuz and cooller; even better if it is the week before a lan (dh winter) so americans can participate too, especially if it is the said $4000 lan.

It's not only me who will tell you that own3d stream sucks a lot. I never had such a problems with zotac's streams.
Ok, let's stop comparing it to zotac, it leads to nowhere tbh. FaceIT should focus on making the most flawless tournament possible (wich shouldn't be that hard...). There isn't much of what community needs to appreciate the whole cup, really... Just some good games delivered on the stream that works totally flawless for everyone with average or higher quality net connection.

Keep in mind that faceit is around for ... 2 weeks, it's still in early beta stages, all suggestions and bugs should be reported.

Zotac has been around for more than 2 years and honestly, the first cups weren't as successful.

I do agree that twitch.tv > own3d, I'm having some issues with the stream myself.

Tbh I didn't really notice any flaws other than that as for me... But this one is still a lot and it matters the most. I think for example agent could have more to say about what's wrong and has to be done better in the future cups. =)

I'm really baffled by how ungrateful and whiny this community is. No one cares about QuakeLive anymore, people are mentionning 2gd but it's quite clear that he cares less and less about Quake each day and to be honest who can blame him.
And when finally there is some effort to bring some attention and some hype to the game, it's still isn't enough because it will never be enough, it's impossible to please a bunch of idiots defending other idiots like agent.
It's really time that people stop investing money, time and energy in some hopeless cause like Quake. I really hope that faceit will grow to be successful so we can see the same bunch of ESR users whine when they drop their loved game.

I really appreciate what roychez an the faceit team is doing, but stream lagging for so many people is probably one of the major mistakes.

I'm just mainly the messenger, most of the credit should go to the guys in Italy and also ins, nicer, fazz and Zoot.

Correct, here's the full story:


Brackets weren't working properly (faceit page still in beta phase), faceit team did their best to solve the problem while apologizing to agent for the delay.

Agent got upset because he had to wait and proceeded to insult the admins with a chat bind during games, saying that he's going to fuck them in their mouths.

Upon receiving several warning from the FaceIt team, agent decided to keep on spamming said chat bind, which resulted in a disqualification.


Now russien)) are mad and ins is still begging for [+]es.

i just watched a game earlier stages. the streamers seemed to be a lil bored and not really caring about what's going on. perhaps it was just my impression. would like to see a lil bit more energy and enthusiasm ;P

All in all it was a nice cup. Enjoyable for me as a player, and the coverage as good too when I was watching the stream. Hope the site will run smoother next time :).

I think admins made the right decision with the agent situation. That is if they don't suspend him any longer.

Agent kept spamming binds ingame and in the faceit chat, something like 'I'll fuck you in the mouth, faceit admins'. So he got kicked from the cup somewhere during the quarter finals.

Just a little summary from mine. We are really understand that it was our problem, that agent had to wait so long. But it is not a reason for him to write bad stuff to admins in a non-stop action. And yes, we warned him enough times, and the conflict was not because of agent don't understand english, its because he is simply agent. I doubt we will ban him forever though, so he will have a chance to comeback one day.

Enjoyed the day very much. The absence of strenx/cypher/etc doesn't seem to hurt the game btw Looks like there's still fresh talent ready to appreciate openings and opportunities.

I don't think zoot was too serious - he's a major pavel fanboi and he's always rooting for the Russians, a little tease is far less harmful than insulting the admins after being repeatedly warned not to do so.

If he would pay etc 10euro entrance to cup, story could be different, but now, cmon :)) Even in 50% big lan events, players have to wait and so on... look at qcon cypher vs zero4 final...

Ofcors you need to improve , before 50% players leaves this cup, but you it's just 2nd cup, it's still in beta and it's still FOR FREE.
