The way it's presented right now it seems like a remarkable waste of money if it's getting payed out.

Waste? No. This is awsome! Bigger and bigger cups once every month. Luckily non-TF2 players (i.e. quakers) may participate this one time in november. You sir should be happy!

EDIT: If I were older and had a stable income I would most def. donate a portion of my money to do things like this frequently. I already organize the biggest eSport in my local town, which is all I can do atm.

Most certainly a waste because you could get much more out of the money than this. Op could even pay somebody 100$ or so (tho there are plenty of people who would do it for free) to organize everything in a proper way for him, if he can't be arsed himself.

I can agree that two 250$ cups could be nicer, but its still no waste imo. 500$ is just enough for a one time only cup (as its not certain that quakers may participate on more zynaps' cups at the moment).

Nope. What is wrong? People can have fun in the cup and people who don't want to participate don't need to do so.

Because I'm not sell something or planning to sell something (like Faceit). Therefore over 9000 participants or spectators isn't a goal for me. Two people (from 64 max slots) could do it. I hope you too. Just follow 3rd link at the first post.

edit: you don't get streams to make a profit but to give people the chance to watch and enjoy the tournament.

At this point, the tournament looks like a clusterfuck.
You don't have to necessarily write an essay for an announcement, but at least one sentence could do instead of 3 bullets, one of them being blatant "no ztn, dm6".

Hmm... Maybe for you. But I trust zynaps because of the things he has done for the TF2 community. Comparing zynaps to, lets say zoot, would be fair if you look at community contributions (although most quakers dont know TF2 community and vice versa) imo.

There was no possible way anyone could have known about his TF2 contributions.

I understand your point and I only wish more Quakers knew about this guy. Especially now as he shows interest in quake (with cups worth of 1000$ so far!). Good that you made a newspost!

Is there a reason behind it?

My QL account allows me to create multiple servers. But I haven't enough time during cup management to do this. I want that participants can create servers in enjoyable location by themselves without my attention.

I think you should reconsider this.

I can play an enjoyable game in an enjoyable server location with anyone who has premium.

Me and other premium players don't want to be excluded from the list just because we can't spawn a server.

On the other hand, I've got a few e-buddies on my friend list that wouldn't mind spawning a server for me.

Hypothetically, only 50% of participants need to have pro. The logical conclusion is that if you ever spawn a server and someone is joining, his status doesn't matter - you can invite said player regardless of his status - premium, pro or standard.

The QL playerbase isn't huge - the worst that you can do is limit it even more.

I seriously hope you take some of this points in consideration.

Premium players can play at any map and any location they want. The callvote limitation is only for standart players. Pro and premium players can play at every map, so there is no actual point to not include premium players(actually this will bring like more than two times more players). Cheers. :)

Why is Pro mandatory? The rule is obvious for Prem users, but Pro?

this is cool, good prize pool. however, like other's I'm slightly confused by the pro-only rule of the third cup. also, will these be streamed? the first one has already passed and I wasn't even aware that it occurred.

I'm not interesting in stream. Players must play match on any server and post results. It's enough for me.

First two cups only for newbies. Unfortunately I lost stream videos from the 1st cup. :(

I don't have motivation to carry PRO cup after Av3k left us.
