I also play prety much all instruments i touch (better not say this to my wife actualy even thi she knows it).

decent stuff, but I think you should pay closer attention to your mastering process. imho you went a little bit too loud and the tracks are getting slightly overdriven at times. otherwise very good.

edit: maybe it's just soundclud problem, but watching the graphs of the songs it seems to be the case:]

yeah ur right, that set i have on soundcloud sounds a bit off. probably mastered it too close to 0db with tracks that were already badly mastered, combo fail. 2nd half sounds okay though.

for that reason i usually listen to cleaner music, less ott layered. much nicer on the ears and costs less energy to listen to :)

I think the Banjo is a little bit too exotic to start with?! If I were you I'd get a classical or a steel-string guitar and start with the basics.
Also you don't have to learn notes at all, because there are billions of tablatures online.

There are a bunch of online teachers as well, the best being www.justinguitar.com .

Haha, I'm just dipping my feet into the water. :) I picked up a cheap banjo for $200 after doing some research. Also, Google "The How and Tao of Old Time Banjo."

I too am passionate about music. I have been playing the cello for a decade and the piano for nearly 13 years. I wanted a change of pace, so I picked up a tin whistle for $20 and have been ripping up some fun Irish and Celtic music.

I play on a toy synthesizer every once in a while (similar to this one). Learned to play Greensleeves on it via a Youtube tutorial.

Also played Cello for 1 year, but didn't like it that much.
