yeah 5 months, but 6-12 hours each day makes it smth like 2 years in normal players (3-4 hours per day) career

No, it's fundemental and quite common among any good player.

His movement was average, and he kept running into the walls. He kept his distance from fetter often, but he didn't show a good feel for combat in vq3 at all.

I liked him better in CPM.

that was my guess too and then he suddenly pulled one against a wall from SG to RA, can that be scripted aswell (don't know shit about scripting stuff like that)

sorry, didn't notice anything really special about the movement, I must be blind. the level of play seemed just better than average, too, but this was still a good demo in its own way.

i sort of thought the same thing :/ matr0x fan boys! There's only so fast you can go in vq3 though :) I was disappointed after watching this demo, the comments gave it so much hype. I got bored after the score was about 3-0. If it gets better - at all - do tell me, and I might endure the whole 15 mins :D

rl-aim wasnīt that good and he made some tactical faults at the beginning.
in 2 situations he didnīt saw and he didnīt heard his opponent as fast as he should do.

that was a pretty good game, but the only thing that really impressed me was his lg at times. It seemed that gad had the better rail, and was unlucky at times.

I just thought that gad was getting momentum and was gonna pull back when the score was 10-7, then he got popped by that nade. i kinda felt sorry for him there, it was pretty unlucky.

Put them all into demos section directly. Other way none will seem them.

Yes this demo isn't too special, I agree. I think he has alot to learn before playing against some of the top players, but I think because this demo isn't against that high standard of opposition, (correct me if I'm wrong) then it might be a completely differnt game style to ones in which he posseses against top duelers. Nice demo though.

IMO his movement throughout the level looked worse.

His playing style looks a bit weird, really aggressive too. I think it will be hard for him to beat players around world. He doesn't got much vq3 tournament experience and imo thats whole diffrent thing then cpma tournaments. In CPMA you are used to play and stay playing aggressive even when it is close with 1 min to go, in vq3 you will make mistakes really fast if you play REALLY aggressive.

In matches at WCG his aggressive playing style might be reason by loosings games. Me looks czm, overaggressive player, thats why he lost some games at QuakeCon. But who knows, his aim looks really good. And with his practice :) he can do well I guess.

I think the point some people made about his RL aim is true though, it really was pretty poor in this demo. I think it's just part of his all round hyperactive style; he has a very high rof with that weapon whereas calmer players like python measure every rocket and are consequently very accurate.

Well, I think his RL aint so weak. I've seen matr0x hitting several mid-air-rockets, especially in cpm3. On promode, hower, he uses RL just to throw the opponent in the air, then he switches to shaft and then to rail. And THIS is what we Poles call 'pure cpm' :). I don't think that ZeRo4 could make this combo better than matr0x...
In my opinion matr0x uses RL nearly only as a tactical weapon - to 'shake' the enemy, to make rocket jumps (which are the best I've ever seen!) etc.
In dogfight he counts on his enormous LG and Plasma on close ranges (and also RL which is not so bad after all!!!), and ofkz he uses rail to shoot the enemies from far (we can see some VERY nice shots on the demo, fired at high velocities).
He's movement is certainly great, he's as fast as you can be on vq3. What is matr0x advantage is that he can aim very good at high speed - most vq3 players slow down, or even stop before railing etc. matr0x not.
Oh, and he has very nice rocket dodging as well (it's visible specially on the demo versus GaD on ztn, whose RL is really good)

Not at all. That is, his movement is not great, or comparable to the top players in vq3 at the moment. Someone like fat, z4, or any of the russians will give him a hardtime in that respect. Fetter wasn't really putting the vice grip on him the way the top echelon in vq3 can.

Actually, if you check the demo you'll see that he picks his spots from time to time. I think you will find that all of his other flaws, if not improved on will override whatever reactive advantage he may have, which is not really shown in this demo. His CPM demos are far better, but of a clearly different game.

search for matr0x on challenge-tv and get the ones from him against krog. he shows really good movement and rail accuracy in those

dropping to the mega like that, and jumping from the lg ammo/rl ammo kinda takes skills, ive seen pleanty of matches where people would try an miss, matr0x seems to land it everytime, giving him an advantage. vq3 or not fetter got the buisness in this one. id like to see the russians keep up with this mad style. i like his lg too, i think it owns

I don't think any of the russians or any of the other top vq3 players in the world I've seen play have anything to worry about if he doesn't pick up his game to the current level of vq3'rs.

the demo is nice...but it was much much better to see that match where it all took place a while ago and hear the ovations :PP

Just watched final games - matrox vs gad - and Im suprised by really weak RL of matrox. I've played him plenty times and watched lots a demos. I tell you, RL used to be his best weapon. Strange.

Well I think that this demo is a little bit overrated... Matrox is talented but I don't think that he is capable to beat a world class players. He's good in Poland - that's all. He has good movement and LG but he's nothing special.

why u ppl debate about mart0x vq3 ? he is very average... but i'm from poland and i'm going to look on him... russians are freaky campers...

Hm, I'll tell you wat is it like. matr0x is a Pole and we are Poles too, so what are we supposed to do? Write that matr0x sux in vq3?

We all know that he's much better playin' promode than vanillia. I can hardly imagine a guy who could defeat mat in cpm3.
In vq3 he's a little worse, but hell no, he's not weak at all! Dunno if you feel the same, but I see something fresh in his gamestyle. Rail / shaft spamming (-> very low % accuracies), aggression, high speed but possibility to slow down or make a sharp turn in a couple of microseconds ;-) - yeah, that's matr0x.
Before the WCG.pl I thought he had too weak aim and tactics to do anything @ WCG Grand Finals. But his last demos gave me a hope. Very nice timing and shaft that can cut fatal1ty into piecies ;), with backup of a good rail - that can win a match for him. Also, don't forget about his promode abilities, which can be played also on vq3.
Besides, matr0x is gonna practise VERY hard with his bro Sting, who goes to Korea with him. That IS an advantage.

As I said before. If we count by smth called "talent" then hes definitelly world top, hopefully for world (but not for matr0x) all games are count also by "experience".
For 5 months vq3 playing matrox is really good, but we cant forget rest top players started 3 years ago. Result? Hes gonna be beaten althought he might give a GOOD fight to anyone right now, and will be much better in future as he was absolutely best promode player at his times.

Let's just wait and see him playin at WCG KRG...

Probably LCD monitors and integrated (thats the word?) with mainboard music cards. If he bring hes rockets to the "normal" level he might be dangerous for anyone, I hope and cross my fingers :)

Krogoth: you're absolutely right about the LCD monitors! Remember the match makaveli-spezzer, played on LCDs? Maka was complaining that he couldn't see a shit (well, that was maybe because the matches weren't played in toilets ;d)!
Also, sound is very important when you have high sens (or accel) and you make very sharp and quick moves while firing rockets.
