I found that 800dpi is the only usable setting as well but honestly I just set it and forget it. Is 800 to fast for you or something?

Yeah, when I first got it, I tried at 800 and adjusted sens for the same cm/360 I was using. Just felt too quick. So I went to 400 and my old sens and it felt ok, but feels like there's a slight delay.

Well then you didn't set the right sens to get the same speed. The g400 is best used at 800 dpi 500Hz. You should put the sens at half of what you use when doubling the dpi. So sens 6 becomes 3.

The only problem i have with the G400 is that it's not very durable, already have two dead ones after about a year of use. While my 10 year old mx518 is still working fine.

I get what you are saying... if you use the G400 at 400 DPI the tracking quality is way worse than the WMO 1.1a... it feels very laggy indeed. Only use the 800 DPI settings on the G400 because at 400 DPI according to Logitech it works by discarding every second count or w/e so its not actually true DPI.

And NEVER install Logitech software... just plug and play 800 DPI, 500 Hz and you should be alright.

I agree, default is best. It's the way the mouse meant to be used. At least i hope so. But it would make sense. Wouldn't it?

Had problems with small diagonal movements at 400 DPI after I changed pad from Razer Control to Madcatz GLIDE 7. Swtiching to 800 dpi and making the pad black with permanent marker :)) cured the problem.

AFAIK, native DPI of G400 is 800 and 3600.

There isn't any delay with 400 DPI on g400. Maybe something else is doing it..

So far the optimal settings I found for my g400 were 800 dpi and 500hz. I didn't had any problems with 400dpi at any point but 1000hz seems to delay the mouse movements.

Well maybe you should install the damn software so that if there is an issue with input lag or smoothing lag and they fixed it with new firmware then you will be able to download it and have a more responsive mouse....

this isnt 2005 anymore where downloading mouse drivers is sketchy... companies actually fix issues with firmware updates now... download the fucking driver

The firmware cannot be updated. I will clarify a little. The g100s and g400s cannot have there firmware updated because Logitech made it so they could not be updated.
