I loved the duel tournament this year, the action was incredible and the suspense of the matches was amazing. The Faceit casting crew did an amazing job!
However, on the part of id software and their passion for all things Quake...which I find hypocritical that the event is even called Quakecon to begin with when Quake seems to be the last thing on their minds, these tweets sums up my thoughts on id software's passion for Quake:

Furthermore, there is so much untapped potential with QL, there's truly nothing out there quite like it. Everytime a new arena deathmatch fps comes outs, I personally always go back to playing Quake, it's just unrivaled.
I wish id software would do more with Quake, but I can't understand why they don't other than their business decisions are being dictated by the executive level suits who are wanting their dollars invested in other ip.

I've been playing Quake for more than a decade. id Software had THE game and event for Western Esports. MY game. And they failed.

Rapha wins an epic final, no Championship interview, no acknowledgement, straight to sponsor **. Sums up #QuakeCon every year it seems.
