The website is maintained by beerMan but Badb0y is the only one posting news to it.
I don't even think the scene is that small.. loads of people still playing in pickups. I would like to see an initiative gathering people.

I will put some thought into it before I do anything but I would defenitely like to do that. :)

I would certainly like to try and gather some people in our old clan channel #sauer, just to hang out as we don't even play anything right now.. maybe if there were enough germos we could play some casual team matches every now and then.

i tried all the modes, this is the bestest of the best. keeps an old git fresh and crispy
cant understand why people play default quake. i wouldnt play quake any more if there wasnt cpm. and as u guys seem to have stop playing, maybe u should give it a shot 2.

At the level I am playing it it is not interesting enough for me to keep playing it? What is hard to understand about that and why does it matter if I am better or worse than you at it? I suck at duel too and yet it is fun to play every day, because there are several aspects of it you can improve.
You argue like a typical CA player, completely delusional. CPM CA is a very casual mode that you can enjoy without committing much if you figured out the movement. It is shooting and getting shot so what is wrong about not wanting to play it all day every day? I can enjoy cpm ca or ca in general with friends for fun but it is nothing I could ever in my god damn life be serious about.

i played cpma ca for yours competitively and i can assure you, although i LOVE this mod, it's not near as complex as duel. this is due to the unique experience of 1v1 matches. ca might (emphasis on 'might') be more demanding in aiming and positioning, but that's only because the options of the game are far more limited.

eh, i never said any of this. just prefer the cpm weaponswitch and aircontrol over default settings. i wouldnt play quake without this, it makes me kinda sick, when its so slow. thats all. and someone should make a map.

what i miss most is the esl bundesliga tbh, it was great to have a stable german duel league.

It was, actually after it got shut down I lost any interest in actually committing to practice in order to win my games. Maybe someone should try to "revive" it again? Not under the ESL banner because they most certainly won't care at all about it, but just create a stable league for German-speaking players. It doesn't even have to have prizes or anything like that, just Divisions with set match-dates and maybe a stream for the higher divisions.

Btw.: Does anybody know where the fuck chosen went? :D

for more people you can ask in the forums of inquake.de. that was the place back then with hundreds and thousands of players. it envolved to a talking toilet. but beware, its like a black hole. you never come back :D

if you do a irc channel, it think it will proably fail. time is over for that. irc did so much good stuff to quake, but the people are vanished. irc isnt popular anymore, fuckbook is. when things vanished or get smaller, the only place is to go international.

i dont wanna go nostalgic, but if you were there from 2002 to 2005 in quake 3. you wouldnt believe how big quake 3 was. it was nearly impossible to play with a friend, because players changed game modes and mods like undertrowsers. "you wanna play duel? - sure cpma - no, lets play osp tdm - we could play ra3 - i have not installed it - long time no see, whats up? - i play freeze now - you play what? - come to server - what mod version is the server? - xyz - where is the mappack? etc etc etc :D

I don't think we need a german league (scene's probably not big enoifh anymore), but maybe we could set up 2-3 teams and broadcast/post articles about the matches to get some attention. Let's see how many people will follow suit.
