It would be nice if QuakeLive had something like account status where there would be a bar and if it's full, it's like green. Now if you'd get reported for statpadding/shittalking or smth else, then the bar would go down half way and turn yellow. And then if you'd get reported again, it would go down to red. Then for the third strike you'd get banned. But if you do not commit anything for 6 months, your reputation would increase back. And it would also specify like what did you do wrong. Only exceptions would be serious stuff, like cheating, where you would get immediately banned, or racism, where it would jump into red instantly. Something like that.

Good idea. I'd really like to see such system being introduced. Here's to hoping they'll bring it in as a feature request!

Here's the deal:
Got a subscription trough the creditcard of my friends mom because 3 years ago i was a bum without a job and couldnt get a creditcard.

She paid for it, and probably forgot about it. Then she saw this years withdrawal and thought 'wtf is quakelive'. She did a chargeback.

By not providing enough payment methods people that are not able to get a creditcard but love the game will find ways to play it on pro. They want to pay, but they cant. And then you get these situations. I could've fixed it if they had sent me an email about this.

Support will not help me :)

nl has a stupid system for online payments with debit cards that restricts a lot of them to use within nl.

But why not let me know beforehand? Or letting me know in general? That's why customer support exists. And why should I be perma-banned for life? I can get my own CC within a week. Surely this could've been resolved like human beings. There is no discussion with support possible.

It's very uncommon for people in The Netherlands to get a CC. I did the same thing for a different game, used someone else's creditcard to pay, it was fine. That person didn't do a chargeback though. Why did she chargeback if you paid her every time? That doesn't make sense. Tell her to sign a form stating that it was fine that you used her creditcard or whatever. It's unfortunate you are banned.

Have not paid for this year yet because my friend is in Hong Kong on an internship for 6 months. Anyway, yeah, it is uncommon to get a CC here unless you're .. idk. For some reason not too many people have one.

it's better to use tokens to pay for subscription if you don't have a credit card. ask a ql friend with premium or pro account to buy you a token, give him money, get the token, redeem token in your profile. one time transaction, everyone is happy.

No one is buying that you didn't go through the minor effort of getting a credit card (banks throw this shit at you, as nobody wants them), but instead use your friend's mother's credit card...for 3 years...and remember to give her 15 bucks once a year...yet she is confused when a 15 dollar charge shows up on her account. What did she think you were giving her 15 dollars for? Oh yeah, this is a really ill-thought story about how you stole your friend's mom's credit card information and used it without permission. That's probably why none of this adds up.

yes. it's about time for us here to learn to fully appreciate the behind scenes work he does and drop the attitude towards him. me included. the fact that he's lurking around here to check out what the community is up to and at least trying to react in a calm way to the river of shit, drops on streams giving tokens away and answering questions is cool and deserves more recognition from us. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was indeed him being single-handedly responsible for clearing that mess and even if not - he deserves lots of credit from us anyway. so high five sync. no homo.
