Because I already stated in the original post "Never gets old watching "serious" players getting trolled by a guy playing the game "his style"."
So your "so old" didnt add anything, not even if u dis-/like the movie.
But hey, this conversation here gets..
too much for zblock:|
I can do about 5 jumps before i get tired of scrolling up/down like a maniac. Bhopping like that in any of valve games is hard. You accelerate depending on how fast you turn during the moment you jump and once you fall down you got to mimic everything to opposite direction or just turn right before you fall and repeat, if you fail you will either lose speed or just stop completely, going up/down from ramps changes the momentum. So i kinda get what these "victims" are coming from.
Cs is shit... yes, BUT.. playing cs like it is quakemovement while all other people playing sneaky sneaky pro-style and owning+trolling them hard is THE SHIT:]
cs is harder to bhop in than other games like hl, tfc, or ns because of the extra speed loss on hitting the ground. if you don't have a really good scroll wheel for spamming like the deathadder you need to use a script and even then its very dependent on the server quality and rates. this guy is probably using a macro though judging by the speeds he can get since cs in particular is so unforgiving on the timing.
just about all of that stuff you said is true for ql too. the timing is really the only issue. cs is bad for trying even harder to remove bhop, but still making it possible so it is even more inaccessible. iirc its now removed in css and csgo
What? This topic is like: favorite fraggin/trollin movie on a gaming forum.. like pulp fiction could be in a favorite movie thread on a movie forum..
Nothing about PSHHH I FOUND.. more like: hey guys, do you remember?
edit: After those failed attempts of "casting" at adroits I lost COMPLETE respect, good example for public disgrace I guess..
i wouldnt say anything about a thread just dont request to major this shit.
EDIT: i see its not majored anymore but it was yesterday wasnt it? my netbook is bugging around a lot lately. fml.
that makes a lot of sense then. I can bunnyhop well in other valve games, but have never been able to consistently get this speed in cs with default settings without the use of a macro because of its settings . These speeds are very possible with increased airaccelerate though.
i dunno if they exist in source.. prob do... they existed in gldsrc and people got busted for it in TFC hehe... pretty sad when dudes gotta use a .dll to be able to bhop well -_-
One server once kicked me for rl script. I was then labelled a cheater by some TFC people. When I attempted to tell em that before TFC there was a game called TF where RL scripts originally were made and commonplace (I know because I had been to TF lans), they basically reacted like I was teaching evolution in texas. NOW HWAT's THAT TF IS FOOR, I SAY MADE UP GAME, MADE UP COMMUNITY.
The older this gets the less i believe the authentication of his bhop skills, mostly played 1.6 and not really Source, but just look at the consistency and the movement, it looks pretty much identical to every script you have ever seen.
Bhop like this is so hard that only one person in the world can do it this well, and no one else can even come close? Unlikely
He's not very skilled at movement (I guess he is compared to CSS pub players). And it's definitely scripted. I've played with the guy, he's a mediocre player that made a funny vid using cheats. Bhop like that simply does not happen. Yes, it is theoretically possible to be that lucky, but we're talking years of footage, even if the server is set up to benefit bhop.
What confirms it for me is that he said he couldn't do it anymore because of the orange box update, and it was much easier to do on older versions of CSS, so I tried an older version... and it was the same.
I have 7,000 hours in cs:go and I've played with him a few times, hes one of the most skilled movement player I've seen in that game and it must be nothing compared to his source skill.
He's sub-par as far as movement goes in either game, but the movement players in Source are phenomenally better than in :GO. He's a cheater that uses the most basic movement against people that do not move.
I have 4000 hours playing specifically movement maps in source, even more specifically, surf maps. Every decent player that played bhop maps and moved to surf maps has been verified for cheating (whats funny is that every decent Russian player I've played CS with has been verified cheating as well).
Case study: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4gcLhmWK2A
Not only can this guy execute the highest amount of precision with his air strafing in any Source mod or map type, he's also the most consistent performer. He was also ranked global on more than two accounts before the first big VAC wave. Now you have to ask why he can't move like phoon does. phoon is years away from being able to strafe that well.
If you tell me phoon gets one or two lucky plays in a game, that's believable, but if he's doing it to the point where you can begin to expect that he will pull it off, he's cheating. The game punishes you way too hard when you slide on the ground for anyone to be consistent. The only way you can maintain speed is if you execute +jump on the exact same server tick that you land on the ground. With spacebar or mwheel, that won't happen often.
he also posted this awhile ago on ESR about timing on his 1000hz wmo:
http://www.esreality.com/index.php?a=post&...pid1840733
"I actually can feel the difference in game. I'm not playing quake though, in my game I need a command bound to the mousewheel. I can feel the timing difference between the commands being spammed in the mousewheel, as my timing has to change when I use a lower polling rate."
The effort with the website/1000hz wmo makes it seem like his 2-3 videos with sick bhops were purely good timing. He plays on a CRT and an old PC so the latency is low as well
That's all a load of crap. The servers he's playing on are stuck at 66 tick. No matter how much overclocking you do or any setting tweaks, your client can't send a command faster than .015 seconds. If you miss by 1/66th of a second and jump on the tick right after that, you are punished for it. If you are that good at timing, then you would be better off just using spacebar because it is more accurate than a single mwheel click.
Let's also note that he told me a different story as to why he can't do it anymore, which would've been a few months after the post you linked.
I will stand by the last paragraph in my previous post.
The post I linked implies he was using 1000hz before and after 2010 for the purpose of bhopping, if he was scripting it would be unnecessary to be interested in something that is barely noticeable unless you're actually good enough to hit timings like those.
Also I'm pretty sure pre-orangebox update CS:S ESEA servers were 100tick, but I didn't even play it then so I wouldn't know. Could ESEA client not detect bhop scripts by 2010? Why would he not get banned on the most advanced anti-cheat client of any FPS?
Your previous post brought up matchmaking ranks, which are really irrelevant since its filled with braindead cheaters, but phoon got to the top rank using only a deagle which is a massive handicap in CS:GO.
Clearly his gamesense is on point and hes spent a lot of time learning about the specifics. If you think his bhops are illegitimate its complete conjecture. Hes done all thats possible to prove himself and theres nothing left to incriminate him
There are mice that have what people call "hyperscrolling" where it just floods console with +jump, and people can bhop just fine with that. You don't need any kind of hook to cheat bhop. Some people use autohotkey.
Timing that well consistently simply is not humanly possible. Tickrate variance has trade-offs. The window to be precise is 33% smaller, but the punishment is slightly less if you are off by a tick or two. It still would not result in consistent bhops. Even 100tick servers set up specifically for bhop maps have sucky bhop.
Bottom line is, if he bhops consistently, he's cheating. If not, he made a few lucky plays, which are entertaining to watch, but not special. I've got just shy of 5000 rage demos myself that I was going to make a video with similar to phoon's, but a valve update broke voice chat and I haven't found a way to roll my client back to that version...
