I'm currently half way through "The Player of Games" by Iain M. Banks, as per DDK's recommendation, and I've got Iain M. Banks' "The Algebraist" lined up after that for when I finish. I also intend to eventually get round to reading "A Game Of Thrones" and hope I don't accidentally see or hear any spoilers before doing so. Also lined up are "The Engines Of God" by Jack McDevitt and "At Home" by Bill Bryson.

For now:
Corporate American Polititricks:
Crucial Confrontations by Kerry Patterson, Joseph Grenny, Ron McMillian, Al Switzler
Strengths Finder 2.0 by Tom Rath
Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Coleman
Managers in corporate America read these books and practice them on the job. From my understanding, this is common practice/required readings in certain higher education business schools in the USA.
My current reads:
Grace: A Memoir by Grace Coddington
Grace Astounding in Bolshevik Russia by Dr. A. McCaig (this book is from 1929, I found it in a thrift book shop for $2).
How to Land an A330 Airbus by James May (bought this for the SO, he didn't read it, so I kinda took it back)))
My all-time favorites:
Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Hackers by Steven Levy
Everyman by Anonymous (c. 15th century)
Resistance, Rebellion, and Death Essays by Albert Camus
Doctor Faustus by Christopher Marlowe
Macbeth by William Shakespeare
Grimms' Fairy Tales by Grimms Brothers
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
1984 by George Orwell
Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner by Alan Sillitoe
Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse
Nature by Henry David Thoreau
It's hard to remember them all. I definitely recommend Master and Margarita, as others have suggested. This game is hard.
