what im telling you is that non of both tests have anything to do with what you have to do in Quake. targets dont randomly pop out of nowhere in a 2D square environment. beeing good at that flash wont prove you are a good aimer, nor would a bad result mean your aim is bad. you could aswell play a awesome round of xwing vs. tie-fighter and claim to be pro at darts because of that. "what does one have to do with the other?" nothing - just like that flash with ingame aim.

Lol, I don't play T:A competitively but I don't remember targets moving like this, ofc they move a lot more than on COD/CS/BF, I'd say it's not child's play compared to these 3 games when you have to track targets, but it's not that hard either.

But aiming depends on many things, if you compare aiming between different games then you have to give us a situation. I'd say that on Quake you are not always in those situations you find in T:A, CS, BF, COD. When I play Quake and when I'm getting hit (if you're pushed by rockets for instance), I need to correct my crosshair again (even though it might not be that hard for some people), but on CS, BF, COD, or T:A I never have to correct my crosshair as much... actually I don't even think I do :D I haven't played them a lot lately.

So this Aim400kg is nice but yeah, it does not help you with situations...

You're posting on a Quake forum, despite that little fit mods had about it being a general gaming forum a while back. As you well know, Quake is 90% strafe aiming and 10% spam, so any meaningful aiming skill is lost on this community. Those stupid flash games require more skill than the whole of Quake.

aim400kg is something different than aiming in game where stuff like positioning, dodging, prediction matters. It's also limited (flash), too dependent on user setting - browser, resolution etc.
The benefit is that it is a test for everyone, it's possible to compare players from different games.

actually the chain one is quite a good warmup for lg in ql! thanks to that flash minigame, found my comfortable sensitivity and mouse position during tracking, improved my personal record to 89300 today:)

I actually sort of agree, unlike most ppl here.

Just because this app doesn't test all your skills in quake live, it doesn't mean it's not improving certain aspects of your aim. Of COURSE aim in ql is more than just movement of your mouse, it's also in your strafing, map knowledge etc.

It's like someone whining that working on your stroke action in tennis, without a racket in your hand is pointless. Because in a real game you have a racket in hand and you're usually on the move when your hitting the ball.

I'm not saying this app will help, or won't help. The verdict is still up for debate. But if you're gona say it won't help, show some actual evidence rather than these logical fallacies. And if you're desperate like me, who has been playing ql for over 4 years and still has a shitty aim that averages less than 30 lg. This app could be a life saver to my game. Just practising my aim in ql over and over isn't working for me!

This has nothing to do with aiming in 3D, you dont do such extremely small movements that look like having 1cm/360 sens.

Long time ago I tried with very accurate small movement cypress sensor + plastic pad with almost no static friction = great scores in 2D aim flash games, but shit aim in 3D.

Now:
jittery a3050 + cloth pad with ton of static friction = 81600 shit score, hand hurts more than after workout, didnt even bother with hitting 1 pixel dots. Good aim in 3D.

A large portion of duel is exactly as you said, shooting at players not shooting back at you because you're in control, Aerowalk is a massive spawn frag fest and the player out of control cannot do anything. BTW the guy you showed doesn't move his mouse fast at all, he either waits for the enemy to come into his xhair or he takes his sweet time catch up with his xhair. Also when the enemy is not shooting you in duel he's actively dodging you at the very least, not to mention that you should be comparing it to a team mode where you're getting shot at all the time, often from more than one place with more than one weapon, by people who are dodging your shots. And not to mention that the enemies can take more than one shot. So you'll have to forgive us that what is basically instagib with flight doesn't impress that many of us.

Any waiting is because the sniper rifle charges only while zoomed in and the damage formula is "Min( (4.92 * X) ^2 + 10, 500))" where X = time in seconds while zoomed in which punishes firing early. But when you say that a large portion of ql duel is shooting at an enemy who's not shooting back you're completely ignoring that you're shooting an enemy who's completely aware of your existence and is actively trying to deny you shots as opposed to a completely vulnerable floating enemy possibly engaged in his own battle with someone else.

As the game revolves around random changes around last position of the target this is not asking as much mouseaim skill as readjustement of mouse position.
Making the target teleport in bigger steps instead of a smooth motion with increasingly frequent direction changes would actually be closer to mouseaiming.

The randomness also implies that scores depends on luck on top of aim. Sometimes overshooting will bring you closer to the next position, increasing your score more easily, sometimes quite the opposite (losing precious time).
Experience is one part, luck on a good run is another for a high score.
Ingame the motions are not totally random but often predictable (ennemy moving to take cover, dodging in definite pattern, following specific path...).

CS players are probably more familiar with the dynamic of random recoil correction than quake players. They're quite static, playing with random spread and used to playing shit games. No wonder they're the best at this!
Quake is actually favoring strafeaiming much more than mousetracking (lg doesn't bend with strafes, it does with mouse movements). The main mouse correction in Quake comes from adjusting your mouse movement in correct sync with your strafe patterns then adding aiming on top in smooth motions (to avoid fucking up the bending of the lg).

the game only hurts your hand, and it doesn't replicate a real movement back and forth. Good for training against your aim against warpers though, because of how fucking jittery and spastic it is, and you can only hit it in one place. good tool to use in ausquake because of it.

I never expected much from this community of uneducated children, but this level of stupidity is just simply astounding! These thought processes (if they had one) are so utterly simplistic, it would be understandable if someone mistook them for primitive apes, and animals of similar kind.

I won't even waste my time explaining the concept this site implements for improving aim. It's really simple, and if anyone had a brain they would most likely come to the correct conclusion after a few minutes of thinking. I'm afraid only few of you here has it, quite honestly.

You only need to understand that they have specific training games for specific in-game mouse movements. Practicing these mouse movements in the site, the results will eventually transfer to your game. But it is a must that you spend time with actual games, or improvement will never come to fruition. It's somewhat of an assistant for progress in the art of mouse-aiming.

Also, I must say that the tracking game you've mentioned, jiggly, is quite useless. A randomly moving dot that demonstrates no typical nor realistic movement is a matter slightly more of luck than of skill, and it just doesn't help that it gets more and more spastic as time nears its end.

There are many games in the site, good and bad, and this is one of the latter.

Do you mind sharing your suggestions then, because criticizing is one thing but not everything.

Just go and browse the site, and take a look at the games yourself. If you're not mentally challenged then it shouldn't be too hard to differentiate the good from the bad. Press reaction v1, is obviously the least helpful game in the site.

In my opinion, exact aim pro is the most helpful, for it nicely stimulates the necessities required for proper aiming. And most important is the most basic version of exact aim, beginners should focus on this most of all.

Many things are being stimulated as one plays that game, and such are the necessities I spoke of earlier. To grasp this idea, think of what is required to effectively shoot at moving targets. Mouse control (accuracy, precision, speed) Mouse consistency, and whatnot. There are several other factors that come into play, mental capabilities and such.

From playing real games such as Quake, do you know that every specific training game that site offers are all being stimulated at once? This idea is probably what led the creator of aim400kg, to make aim400kg. The difference between real games and aim400kg, is that aim400kg can let you focus on specific capabilities alone, making improvement on that specific capability more progressive than if you were to play in actual environment, where many things are being stimulated, all at once.

The real thing is still more important, though.
