Out of curiosity, are you actually looking forward to any of the FPS that are currently in development? Are you just going to stick to what you're playing now?

What should I be excited for? Reborn is vaporware. Reflex is pretty much another Warsow.

Quite honestly, the most excitement out of me is the hope that id Software gets a clue, revamps Quake Live into something legit, which Syncerror has already alluded to in an ambiguous irritating way. BUT at least it keeps the hope alive.

In the sense that it is "innovative" in a way, but it doesn't bring anything new to the table. It'll get a small crowd of players, but won't catch on.

As tempting as it would be to call you on that, if we do become the "next big thing", just buy a copy and have fun.

And I'm assuming you don't watch Zoot's streams or FaceIt? Sync is always on there and he's dropped a few hints here and there.

After 4 years you still hold out hope he can deliver? Better hope someone else takes over for quake live.

what syncerror can deliver? well i might be stupid , but im pretty sure he works for a company with fairly strict management which tells him what he is allowed to do, and how much time(money) he can spend doing it.

just the fact that theres only 2-3 people working on quake tells alot about how much money they are willing to spend on it, resulting in the lesser results.

Most employees of bigger companys are afraid of forums etc, because they know they can not make everyone happy and forums are not a forgiving place. Die hard quake purist fans doesnt make it easier.

Just the fact that syncerror is active on esr and chats in the live streams he should have some sort of medal for . :P

All we can hope for now is that with the standalone there are some minor fixes which results in a placebo of a nicer quake experience. Anything above this we should cheer and be thrilled about.

But still , i myself can never let go of the hope that is "the next big thing" in quake , beeing the quaker that i am (not that good but played since quake1).

unless you(not specifically YOU) can.do something about it. ..then just play quake and enjoy what we have =)

hahaha , well i have , thus choosing the word "fairly" , otherwise it would be just "strict" . However you can add in that im sure he wants to play it safe for the bosses , you know , income and such is great things in life ;) Shitty management is still a management =p

I think its fairly sad to see they wasting the quake franchise like they have.)(Basically throwing quake in the dumpster by having quake4 beeing made in such a way) But my point still stands quite firm, that we cant blaim syncerror and the others on the team for all the negative things happening at this point.

So you do not feel anyone else can do his job? He is that exceptional at it? Why not let someone else take a shot at it?
