Hardpoint is a territorial control mode with three control points. You gain points for controlling the objective, in the end the team with the most points win the match.

In Attrition, the Militia team must escort a VIP to the to an extraction while the IMC team's objective is to prevent the VIP from extraction.

Yeah Hardpoint is a mode in COD as well. But in COD Hardpoint is different, it's one spot at a time that you need to control/capture/defend. Titanfall's hardpoint mode is actually the Domination mode from COD, 3 spots you capture/steal/defend/control on the map.

Looking at the tutorial pictures, it's a bit like Quake Live tutorial when you learn how to jump, but of course, it's simplified since you only have jetpack xD.

If on PC we can mod it, things can get interesting, but we don't know everything yet, we will see, at least it looks like a game we can have fun with friends for a while.

Btw. they said the same bullshit as Infinity Ward with every new CoD game. "mod tools will not be at launch, but maybe later..."

Tbh I think nowadays with publishers like Ubisoft, Activision and EA you shouldn't expect much, just look at BF4 and all COD, they put too much pressure on studios, the old Infinity Ward of West/Zampella was a different studio, since Kotick came with his "more profits only philosophy" many people knew what was going to happen anyway. They rush way too much the development and we get what that kind of deadline allows you to deliver lol. With the Source engine imo it's all good, but now I'm wondering if EA is going to allow it on STEAM and then we gamers can have access to the community hub like all Source games (hurray), but if it's only on Origin platform, then it's dead I believe. Maybe they already gave infos about these points, I don't know I don't really follow, I'm just waiting until the day before the release to see how the "final" product will be.

After playing a little bit of Extraction I got to say that we could be looking on to a new wildly popular game. Surely the beta game has some flaws which need to be look into, but if those are fixed it can become a sequel for ET/RTCW series as a teamplaybased multiplayer game. Surely it has ironsight which some of you might find hard to operate with but it's not dependent on that as you can aim accurately without that too. I've played one 5on5 there and from what I experienced it's thrilling to play and you're very dependent of your teammates which I think is a good thing.

I like Extraction too. It could be better, more old school... but still it's quite good and I hope it will grow. Imo it could be LoL of fps games, but skilled. If they will make good decisions. But I would like to see it on steam instead of Nexon.

But sadly... Splash Damage is just bad or doesn't have enough of luck.

From the class descriptions in the kotaku article it sounds like a casual game that's trying to take a bite out of the tf2 audience. I also hate the "memorize arbitrary shit" game mechanic that will be in this game for memorizing songs for terrain changes and firing guns in rhythm.

esports is a gimmicky term every developer throws around now to push their big vision of their game. free to play, not pay to win is a standard fare bullet point for f2p games now so people don't just skip over them. from what I've heard hidden path fucked up a lot of stuff and valve had to step in to talk to comp players and fix csgo, but I don't know much about the game's history and I'm sure they've learned a bit from it.

edit: Also, imagine the best competitive song is some really annoying crap and you have to listen to it over and over. If the game doesn't have a really good soundtrack that most people would like to listen to it's screwed. Just the thought of being forced to listen to dubstep to play an fps is absurd, even if it's only a portion of the game's music. Just the entire idea of memorizing songs being a major advantage in a shooter is a bit ridiculous. They could probably add visual queues for the music and let people mute it, but I doubt they will.

On the PC forum you will find people telling you that 60 fps is ok so no need to unlock without Vsync (until now only a work around with Vsync allows you to uncap the 60 fps limit), they will tell you that vote/spectator/switching teams are not needed so it's ok the way it is, and the list goes on, most real FPS PC gamers quit or play a lot less due to these issues.

Respawn managed to fuck up the Source engine so bad that your FPS is tied to your sensitivity, and they don't know how to fix this because apparently it will have issues with speed if they ever break that fps cap.

They are only talking about DLCs right now, not even patching, also the Azure servers from Microsoft which apparently were the best solutions to provide powerful online gaming experience makes you time out every game during 5 to 20 seconds if you're unlucky, and you lose connection, worse than STEAM when their servers are down and some games need you to be signed in to play!

Game had potential, good thing I bought it via proxies, it kinda felt bad paying less than half the price specially when the currencies were advantageous for us Europeans, but dear God, I don't regret it.

nice stuff, but i never really liked cod4...i played it for like 100 hours, it was just simply too easy overall. And the most famous people on cod4 (qlimaxzu,davy and whonot) got pretty much raped by me in cod2....cod4 fucks your skill :D.

cod2 is imo just different, but probably more balanced at all and maybe even better, but I started from cod4.
I like sprint but... cod4 map sizes are the same as cod2 ones... so because of that they seems to be smaller, nade spam is reallty annoying. I would like to have CS style nades in CoD ;)

well, i played cod1 in 2003...and imo, cod2 is better ;). The map design / "Engine" or w/e was better in cod1...Carentan was very very balanced in cod1...just for how the map was built like in cod1...i dont know why, but it was just much better...in cod2 Carentan is insanely unbalanced if you dont play properly but if you play 5v5 randoms it ends like that each team gets 8-10 rounds as axis and next to non as allies.

cod4 is an OK game....it just lacks recoil on the weapons...thats pretty much it. and the pistols were deff. too strong, like about 10 times too strong. killing 2-3 people in cod1/2 with pistol was a very very good thing...in cod4 it was like the norm to miss your aku shots, then pull the pistol and kill 2+ ppl in like 0,3 seconds.

Cod4 probably has a better map pool, in Cod2 there is Toujane,Burgundy,Dawnville...those maps were played 95+% of the time, rest was just meh.

The reason Cod4 pretty much died is cause pros gave up on it after time, saying it was just too easy and the skillcap is insanely low...which well...is true ;).
