Casual gaming, (CPMA, CS:GO & some new titles I'd like to try - GTA V n sheeit) video editing, (Vegas) web design, (PS, DW) recording guitar and bass tracks, (Ableton) and surfing.

imho, for $1100 you could easily go for intel.. unless you think you desperately need 6 (or 8) cores.

it will kill the fx in games, except only for the ones coded to really take advantage of all those cores, plus with buying the ati card you avoid all the mess with the supposed input lag debacle with nvidia kepler gpus. (the one you listed is good as well)

edit: dont underestimate the importance of a really good stable output psu, the one recommended is the only good enough in that price range, if you want better, go for the seasonic g-series and pay up. :)

Unfortunately an Intel build is far out of my price range if I want to buy a mouse keyboard and a case, not mentioning a CRT.

Point taken for the PSU, even though everybody praises this particular one (FSP) I took a look at the XFX ones and there's only a 550W Pro. Would that be alright?

also didn't know that all the peripherals and a monitor were included in the budget, sorry again then. maybe try an ivy bridge build (3570k + ga-z77x-d3h) and see if that gets you inside your budget frame. otherwise.. yeah well, amd. :)

So far this config will work but instead with an asrock mobo (same chipset) kingston ram kit and ssd (smallest) and a seagate 7200 rp 64 mb 1 tb winchester, the case being a Sharkoon Vaya 2 Black. Used CRTs would be nice if the person selling em would know the exact parameters, most of the time they dont even remember putting up the ad. I'd need a CRT that can do 120 hz on the highest possible resolution.

If they can write russian / polish from time-to-time, I guess our language will suffice sometimes as well. :>

Tápajánlóért prohardver.hu-n a "Milyen tápot vegyek?" topik. Amúgy FSP, Enermax, Seasonic és Silentmaxx modellek a leginkább ajánlottak, ill. egyes Antec-ek, régebbi Chieftec-ek és Corsair-ek (a Seasonic-belsös széria). De pl. Gigabyte-nak is vannak FSP-belsös darabjai; nekem otthon Gigabyte GE-C420A-C2 van, 6,5 ezerért vettem boltból, piszok olcsó és igen kellemes darab - bár tápkapcsoló nincs rajta, de az úgyis van a hosszabbitón.

Házból 10ezerig mindenképpen valamelyik CoolerMaster Elite-et nézném; remekül szellöznek, könnyen szerelhetöek, egy 12-es venti alapból van bennük, elég massziv konstrukciók és nem is néznek ki rosszul.

Alaplapból nem feltétlenül kell fullosabb modell - a tuningban hosszútávon nem hiszek, inkább a stabilitás legyen a fö szempont; valamelyik ASRock / Gigabyte modell megteszi 20ezer alatt. De persze van DFI is.. Vagy ha Intel-alapú konfigot épitesz, mindenképpen Intel-lap; betonstabilak.

Proci terén én nagy AMD-hivö vagyok, de az újabb szériáknál mégis inkább Intel-re épitenék - egy Radeon VGA-val párositva. Videovágás alatt pl. profitálhatsz a 4+ magból, de mégis inkább az Intel-re szavaznék all-around megoldások terén.

Minöségi RAM-ból ezeket érdemes nézegetni; Mushkin, G.Skill, Crucial prémium széria, Super Talent, Buffalo Firestix, egyes Micron-szériák. A Corsair-ek elég válogatósak. Olcsóbból egy mezei Kingmax.

Vinyóból szerintem hanyagold a Seagate-et, nézz szét inkább a Hitachi 24/7-es használatra hitelesitett HDD-i között. Adattárolásra fölösleges 7200 rpm és a cache is gyakorlatilag mindegy - az 5400 / 5900 rpm-es vinyók halkabbak, 4-5 fokkal hüvösebbek, ebböl kifolyólag hosszabb élettartamra számithatunk velük kapcsolatban. Ajánlott méret min. 2TB, de az is megtelik pikk-pakk.

SSD-böl megintcsak Intel-t érdemes. Rendszervinyónak 60-120 GB tökéletesen megfelel.

Ominózus CRT-k 6-10 ezer között mozognak, szép állapotban. Néhány modell, amiket érdemes megvenni;

Ez igy 214, 730.-, az iWay.hu-ról raktam össze, a vinyó a4team.hu-ról van. Mindkettö pesti üzlet, a két kedvencem. Hitachi hiján megteszik egyes WD-modellek is, de ha gondolod, kereshetsz magad is valami 5400 / 5900 rpm-es Hita-t.

Billentyüzetböl ajánlom az IBM SK-8820-ast, aprón-valahol biztos találsz. PS/2-es (ez kell), fekete, IBM, elpusztithatatlan, tökéletes Quakezni, tudsz strafe-es ugrás közben fegyvert váltani. Én 500 Ft-ért vettem évekkel ezelött használtba, a másik 4-et meg ingyen kaptam. : )

Egérben kb. 10-12 ezerig érdemes igazán gondolkodni, bövebb iránymutató szintén prohardver.hu, a "Milyen egeret válasszak?" topik ELSÖ HOZZÁSZÓLÁSA - nagyjából lefedi a fontos kérdéseket.

Not just the GPUs, it's the drivers.. you have to do with out opengl 3 if you want a lagless driver. also. It's some kind of frame smoothing, which introduce lag. I think they did it to fix the microstutter a few years back, dno though. I'm done with nvidia if they never fix it thats for sure.

don't go all grammar on me, it's a figure of speech :) i know you don't acknowledge the latency problem, as didn't i, until i had the possibility of experiencing it myself.. it's hard to really put a finger on it, but it's there. :S probably caused not solely by nvidia hardware, but a combination of their drivers, graphic cards, different motherboards, god knows what (or anyone with too much time on their hands to figure it out). anyways, it's a fact: some nvidia card owners have these problems, many don't.. but NONE of the ati do, and that's why i recommended the ati.

and btw, i'm more of an nvidia fanboy myself, if anything. :)

"many dont" is not true, 99.9% of those who dont notice are casual players just have no idea whats going on and what input lag is, others may just not be anal about it or not bothered to compare drivers. I also didnt have latency problem when I wasnt paying attention to it, but tried pre 300 driver I immediately noticed the difference.

try pre 180 ala 175 and be amazed.

I think you could save a lot on a smaller SSD or get rid of it altogether. I still see them as a luxury and the main benefit is boot up time. Much better to put SSD money into an Intel CPU and maybe a better GPU. You can always add an SSD later much easier than changing CPU/GPU.

Have to strongly disagree. I'd never use a PC without an SSD again, ever. Saves you an enormous amount of time - great investment, and they're affordable nowadays.

Get a second hand i5 + mobo. The old i5 2500's still rape the latest amd processors, and you should get it for a similar price or less. On that point, you can probably pick up a second hand 660 or 7870 for a good price too.

I personally wouldn't skimp on an SSD, i won't ever build another pc again without one.

Done quite a bit of research back when I was buying PC, so I'll try to give you some tips.

Motherboard: Look up which features you will need or might need in the near future, and buy the cheapest, obviously. Go with Gigabyte here, followed by Asus.
Processor: Go with Intel here, this isn't even up for a debate sadly.
RAM: 8GB should be plenty unless you have special needs. Go for a kit for dual channel, it helps a bit. Clock/latency doesn't matter, you won't feel any difference. Go with Kingston, Kingmax also fine.
GPU: 7850 is a great choice, have one myself. AMD are just fine in this department and much more affordable. Don't listen to "driver problems" talk, there is no issue, or if there is an issue it can be on either side. Go with Sapphire here, followed by Asus or XFX.
SSD: 120 is enough IMO, depends on your needs obviously. Samsung are by far your best bet in terms of reliability and performance, followed by Intel. I guess Kingston are 'okay'.
Chassis: w/e
PSU: One of the PSU-s that died on me many years ago was a FSP(FSP Bluestorm I believe), so I'd strongly advise against.
Seasonic are by far best quality, I think some manufacturers use their parts in some models(Antec does, maybe others). Followed by Enermax. Seasonic is affordable too. I wouldn't skimp on PSU, bad PSU can cause problems, component deterioration, etc. You want one that's labeled around 500 wattage, don't need more for sure.

My preferred manufacturers are based on personal experience, research, and an article that was posted on hardware.fr a while ago which made statistics of brands and models being RMA-d the most per components.

If you play fast and competetive FPS or racing games you will need an Nvidia GPU and a 120hz benq/asus monitor to enable lightboost. It really is a whole new experience.
I can't even think about switching back to 60Hz now ..
