There are a few things we need to know. Do you play fast paced fps games a lot for example quake live, cs:go, or battlefield. Higher hz monitors help make these games much smoother but also require a decent graphic card to keep your frames above 144hz. So what graphic card do you have. As far as brands go with high hz moniters you will have to watch some reviews or read them. You can find some monitor reviews here http://pcmonitors.info/. The IPS panel usually have the best color for your price range. If you want higher hz with an ips panel I reccomend checking this out http://www.blurbusters.com/overclock/120hz-1440p-ips-monitors/ . Keep in mind ips panels have about 6ms input time and the asus and benq 144hz moniters have 1ms to 2ms but you seem more of a casual player so an overclockable ips panel may be best you unless your graphic card isn't very powerful. You should be able to get the proper info from the links. I read some of your previous post and saw you posted on dreamhack and quake stuff so if you play quake what resolution do you play at and what refresh rate do you use?

I'm a long-time FPS player myself, used to be very hardcore! Always used CRT until very recently... But the person I'm asking for is more casual. However, he does use the PC a lot so is looking for something comfortable on the eyes and a good all-rounder for 3D stuff and gaming.

That is a bad idea for games. They don't say the response time and it is a tv. It surely is above 15 ms making it 2 or more frames before you would even see a response from it.

i guess its ok for casual gaming. it has biiiig size, good resolution and good price.

I wouldn't be able to use it for anything with a pc it would just be bugging the hell out of me that there would actually be a visible delay before the tv actually responds to me moving the mouse or pressing a button on the keyboard. I know I could never use it.

Does anyone have any experience with these?

I don't have any experience with those monitors but they should be pretty similar to what I am using which is the ASUS VG248QE. Obviously the BenQ XL2411Z should be the best but I am not 100% sure. From what I understand the benq basically have a few more features that make them a little nicer and the colors are a bit deeper which is a bit of a problem with most of 144hz monitor. Personally I would go with the benq but that is just because I like the extra features that it has. I am sure a lot of people with not really care about the extra features that the benq have and the deeper blacks and stuff really are not going to be to much better with the benq. So he should really look at the extra features the benq have and see if he wants those features and if he doesn't he should go with one of the iiyama.
