Well, considering that i still somehow manage to make my FK skip an higher perfect control speed might be interesting, but the non ambidextrous design kills it for me.
probably bad surface. I have been told that the srom for zowie mice are also bad and 2300 is the best dpi to use the others have issues. from other forums... roccat and others do 800 dpi native but apparently zowie has issues below 2300.
test in enotus to be sure but it might be your mousepad. or the lense just really cripples the sensor that much :/
Ok, let's clarify: I make it skip when i really want to, I'm on a pretty average 24cm/360 so it skips sometimes when i make 360 for the sake of it, and i'm on 2300cpi/1000hz.
Surface is a qck+ old fnatic edition, do you think that might cause problems?
anything steel series in the mix could cause problems, but its hard to say. run it in enotus see what you max out at. could just be pressure too like sometimes the mouse isn't fully on pad before you start the movement
nah
it doesn't matter in current mice industry if you know games or not, meh it doesn't even matter if you know how to build a "good" mouse.
you just have to get top PR ppl and some decent designers - that's all //see razer/roccat; it's clear that logitech is envy of their income out of new-gen gamers raised on moba pride n stuff so they went this way.
at least they're leaving some space for actually worth buying products unlike for example (one of many) razer nowdays
A BF3 player once explained me that when you manouver a turret in bf3 your sens lowers to make it hard to turn, so he increased the dpi to balance that.
Ye, it's basically cheating, but i think it's allowed in competition.
not all games are nice like Quake. sometimes you can't bind sensitivities for specific things in games. some games barely give you sens controls for zooming or ADS
yeah you can maybe get a third party piece of software to do it, but if a mouse can do it why not?
not defending mouse bs, but not all games have good support
It's maybe not a mice for CS/Quake players, but it targets people who don't play anymore in 1080p (and we all know that on ESR many still don't even use that resolution hehehehehehe), but with 2/3 monitors or 4K monitors!
but still manufacturers aren't as raw as they used to be, there's now a bigger market for these things. When quake, UT, painkiller, etc... were the most played games they'd just put a good sensor into a piece of plastic and there you go, now mouses have lights, weights, cool designs... It obviously aims for a different customer than guys who play a 14 year old game.
Yes and of course it has changed now, that's what I'm saying. The thing is many here expect that the majority of manufacturers release something as raw as Zowie does for instance, more or less, gotta open your eyes soon or later, not agreeing with their concept, but if it was a $$$ magnet they would go back to the basics only, no?
When BF3/4, Crysis 3, and Titanfall came out I couldn't believe the amount of people reporting errors during ALPHA/BETA and after release version who said that they have a sli of 780 Ti... and who play with more than one monitor. Plus these people don't even have 120hz monitor sometimes they only want 60hz IPS screens with higher resolutions.
And of course 12 000 Dpi is overkill (maybe I don't know but for me it is), but for instance 3K isn't really (even though I don't use it because I don't need it due to all games I play well people have their reasons anyway), and yet many people here find it is...
You don't have to believe me, I also thought that "who in this world uses 2/3 way sli or Xfire ROFL", well you'd be surprised:
Read a little some stuffs concerning hardware and you'll see that people really spend tons of money on GPU. It makes Quake gamers look poor (I'm not being serious for that last part in case someone gets mad).
Oh and I play some "casual" games too, like tower defenses games in coop with my gf, I remember that for Dungeon Defenders for instance my i5 @3.4ghz/8GB DDR3/ old HD5870 had performance issues then when I was reporting bugs I saw that I was probably one of the guys with the least powerful PC... and when I talk to people I know in Quake they don't even have a Core 2 Duo... they are still in the PIII or PIV period for many. [OFC not everyone hehe, I also know many people with amazing PC on Quake... Ash for instance, I don't know him personally but I know he has a good rig, you'd think that QL allows people with bad PC play SO it would bring MORE PEOPLE RIGHT? Nope...]
[I just looked at the first link I gave you above the 2 first pages I see bi GPU cards like GTX 590, or the HD 6990, then I saw some SLI of 680 and 780 also lower range too and some Xfire too. During Quake Live standalone beta I didn't see that a lot xD, however on Esport Heaven the CS/COD ppl...]
edit 2: Well I just typed all that shit, you probably already read it, but it doesn't say if they use high dpi with their mice, but at least we can assume they do because of the rig they have... I don't think they use 400 DPI in 5760x1200 :|
I was talking about the ingame dpi shift, man. I fully get that people with more money than sense who buy a mouse because it has 10000 dpi use it, I just don't see how it's ever more convenient to use two different sensitivities than one in the middle.
Yeah yeah sorry it was too late before I could edit I thought you already read all so I left all that way, but I'm not sure how this can be useful as the other person said to you in BF sens is a bit different, it doesn't bother me honestly (at least back when I played) but it bothers some people, by the way the funny thing is that I know some people who have two sens for hipfire and ADS ROFL ='D I'm not sure if this comes from gamers or if it's because the manufacturers who brought DPI on the fly stuffs... oh well.
To elaborate on this - all the vehicles have different fov and different sens. You can set global sens for ground vehicles and air vehicles but then a tank has different sens to a humvee. and a jet compared to a heli.. etc
I don't think it was a design decision to make vehicles harder to use, it just happens this way with adjusted fovs, etc.
Its a giant mishmash. However this is about the only game I know of that works like this and about the only reason one would want on the fly switching.
The other example I can think of is games like COD and BF with aim down sight aiming. BF3 uses different multipliers depending on the scope you use - it lowers sens when you ads. When I was playing BF3 this was a problem because my non-ads sens was quite low and the ads sens was just way too low. Fixing ads sens by raising overall sens impacted my non-ads aim.
I never really bothered trying to fix this via DPI switching but it would be possible.
But realistically its a total wank, neither of the above are actually important to players and the main use they have is for lowering sens when zoomed on sniper rifles.. or something equally spastic.
What? That sounds silly.
Never played BF3 but I played some games where heavy artillery turned slower, but it's not the sens of your mouse it's the speed of the cannon. You can set your sens as high as you want it won't make it turn any faster. If it does in BF3 then it's garbage. I seriously doubt that though (not the fact that it's garbage, but that it does that).
It appears to be a Logitech exclusive variant of the Pixart PMW3310DH-AWQT, which is used in recent mice like the Steelseries Rival, Mionix Avior/Naos 7000 and Corsair M45.
The two sensors are nothing a like I have tried the logitech g502 and I have a rival. The logitech sensor is much better. I would have to say the g502 is the best sensor I have used since my ime 3.0 . They really need to put that senor in something like the g100s.
12000cpi doesn't matter as long as there is a setting below 2600 that functions well, shape is preference, weight is preference, buttons also fall into preference.
As long as the sensor works well then I couldn't care less about any trend riding, about the shape it doesn't appeal to me personally the weight does a bit, though I've been using light mice for over a year so I don't know how I'd fare with it, I don't mind buttons as long as they don't get in the way.
Got one, I like it, sensor is excellent, profile features and memory are convenient, shape is like an mx5XX without the lip, buttons don't get in the way with my grip and I've disabled them on one profile and have them set to media keys on another.
It's heavy, I quite like it's weight, but that's just my preference.
yo silly as their brand name and some logos may be, roccat shit is quality stuff - whether you like the shapes or not.
kone pure optical + is probably the best built mouse i have ever touched. puts razer to shame and beats logi for flashy design if no overall build quality. I dont use it as my main mouse, but its deffs the best made one i own.
120g is OK unless you are a weak nerd. Beside of that, different people got different needs and developing a mouse towards those who are against all progression wouldn't be the smartest business plan.
It's not 121g, its more like 126g when weighed properly. The 121g is from Logitech but that's with them opening the mouse and removing the cable from the mouse including the huge rubber stress relief thing. This is not an accurate representation of what you will be lifting while using the mouse.
Logitech released a very heavy mouse with the option of adding even more weight.
If instead, the mouse began at 95g or so then the weight tuning option might actually have a reason to exist on the mouse for those seriously confused individuals who think an object that gets flicked, swiped and lifted over and over for hours at a time would be better if it was heavier. Others would be much more willing to purchase the mouse and just use it without the weights.
That was the poor business decision but that won't sink in because idiots are buying this thing up as fast as retailers can stock it because fuck logic.
I got this mouse a couple days ago. I have no clue what sensor is in it. It tracks the same on all dpi settings. From what I can tell there is no smoothing what so ever. It feels very repressive. I don't notice any acceleration. That being said it is still a laser mouse and the tracking feels like the steel series sensei or a g500s without the the smoothing and acceleration.
This might be a bit hype if you're solely concerned about the sensor and performance alone, but I'm rather convinced; At least after talking to François Morier (Lead Engineer) at PAX East.
Well assuming they're one of the few manufacturers who got access to sensor dsp but not it's manufacturer themselves it's nice that they are moving in the right direction with what they got
it feels pretty awful to hold, just couldn't get used to the grip of it. coming from a wmo/ec1 I was expecting it to hug in my hand but instead I felt that I was constantly doing micro adjustments in mid strafe/aim. Just didn't feel right. Returned. Back to EC1!
Yeah I am not a fan of the shape either, shape is very similar to, but imo a fair bit better than, mx518, g5/500/500s.
I know what you mean about micro adjustments though, all palm logitech mice have had that issue for me. Its like unless you full palm it, theres ALMOST 2 ways to hold it but you can never do it in a way that feels right. I am always shifting fingers around my like 1mm, .5 mm to hit that "sweet spot" that seems to move like a parasite under the skin.
The tracking itself is great though, glide is great, I think the overal design is great and as flashy as it might look, nothing about how it feels or works is gimmicky... its just if you dont like the logitech palm grip, you wont like this one either.
HOWEVER if the left groove of the logitech palm mouse is the /ONLY/ thing that bothers you, you might wanna go to a store and hold this. They removed the ridge on the right hand side of the mouse allowing for better ring and/or pinky finger placement.
