the ad700 is fine for gaming, but definitely overrated.

doesn't get any better than ad700 for the price, extremely comfortable and best soundstage of any headphone <$400 i've tried. works very well with cmss3d if you have an x-fi based soundcard

Come to think of it, did cmss got the name out of that.

I feel better positioning with closed ones, I'm using beyerdynamic dt770 for like 7-8 years or so already, just changed the ear pads a couple of times and never had any problems.
