Added to my list of arena fps games in development. Interested to see how this plays out
This would be one of the more higher profile games, up there in terms of exposure with UT4 and Doom 4 so I hope it ends up being something I want to play.
Very interesting read, these guys are so smart they make me feel like an amoeba but sadly on these latitudes its totally impossible to succed at making games, or at least was when i was younger bc now there are smartphone game studies popping left and right here and some are doing pretty nice like the Kingdom Rush makers which topped the appstore for some days, and being a IT manager is like 1/10 the fun of what these guys do.
Uber nice to see theyre putting PC platform as target #1
ROFLed at "wind up with a game that’s about crafting hats or something." :))
The general consensus is that Nexon is about pay2win and/or turning any game into a cashcow. The games they publish arent usually of all that great quality, and if they do have potential it doesnt often get made use of.
It doesnt help that Nexon is Korean, and Koreans make a shitload of half assed MMO's that are purely about farming and kill 500 tigers for little xp/item gain... Unless you pay to keep up.
I have played hours and hours of Dirty Bomb, and while its an enjoyable game (and its not actually pay2win!) it suffers from mediocre development that relies on skilled players telling them how to balance. Its going to take a long time before the issues the game has get ironed out, plus the cheating issue that a company like Splash Damage/Nexon cant deal with that well so far.
Its just a subtop company at best really, as long as everyone remembers that before they start playing their games.. :p
Thanks for explaining. I wonder if Bosskey have enough control to just rule out much of that shit. Dirty bomb plays quite nicely and while I hate its f2p system, it isnt to the point where I would stop playing it
I actually think it looks better than overwatch (which didnt look great but I was going to play it). Shitty marketing but I'll be trying this out big time
