All mice have some degree of smoothing from what I understand. But a lot of new mice have a lot of smoothing to deal with high dpi settings. When there is a lot of smoothing the mouse can actually seems like it has angle snapping. The mice are more than likely only tested on 60hz. Usually when the mouse has a lot of smoothing it actually causes input lag. I really don't know why smoothing causes input lag. Try something with a unmodified 3090 sensor.

See heavy or increased smoothing (or processing?) in certain mice as ones to consider (not absolute) avoiding, but don't visit overclock.net and take everything they say as final - it's a public forum (like this) and the majority of people simply follow the crowd with no legitimate competitive experience or relatively high accuracy to start with. Having used the majority of mice as part of my work I've considered putting an article together with recommendations, but it's difficult to put such information on paper as all mice, even those that feature the same sensor with same firmware, will feel different for a number of reasons.

The worst case of this effect in an optical mouse, that I've personally used, is the Razer Deathadder 2013. You'll notice it more when tracking enemies in games like Quake and ET, than simply point-and-click or recoil control in games like CS:GO. In the latter kind of games, button response could be perceived as more important... but it depends on the individual / sensitivity / monitor / whatever as to how noticeable it is. If you have a horrific monitor it's going to feel worse etc.

There's a certain point where such feeling becomes an issue, but you'll only know if a certain mouse presents that problem when you try it for yourself. That said, I'd say amend other issues such as monitor refresh rate and input lag, plus in-game fps before you worry about mouse smoothing... otherwise what's the point.

tbh the g100s feels more smoothed out than a DA 2013

It is something I have experienced that only seems to happen with fast movements. I should have clarified more. In paint, when you move a mouse with a lot of smoothing quickly it draws straighter lines than it should. When you move it slowly it ends up pretty much the same as a mouse without smoothing. A mouse with no smoothing or as little as possible will show up in paint the same at slow and fast speeds. This could just be me I am not sure. The end result isn't the same as angle snapping because it is not as severe. It is more similar to the angle snapping settings on the steelseries sensei at about 2. It isn't enough to keep the cursor level but it is enough to alter the movement. It probably wasn't right to say it is similar to angle snapping because people will think of full on angle snapping when all I mean is it alters the movement making it a little straighter than it should be.

If you move more than 1 count per polling period, a paint program will have to connect those discrete positions to create a continuous line. It appears that most paint program just use linear interpolation to join the dots.

You can easily show this behaviour by drawing diagonal lines at 25% zoom level. Single count movements will be 4px stairsteps and fast movements will create straight diagonal lines through pixels beyond the precision of that zoom level.

First off I never moved the mouse slowly. I missed type because I usually move the mouse very fast and medium speeds. In paint I was moving the mouse at a medium speed not slowly.
Well all I know is the steelseries rival and deathadder 2013 act differently in paint than my cm storm recon. I did some testing with a different mouse pads.
I no longer know if it is because of my mousepad or if the smoothing was correcting it. Anyway when I move the mouse accross a qck+ mlg the cursor wobbles up and down I though that was me doing that but it was the white on the mousepad. Other mice that have alot of smoothing for some reason only did this when I moved them normaly accoss the mousepad and don't do it when I move them quickly.
Also when you move the mouse quickly in circles there are straight lines in the circles. With a mouse with little or no smoothing you actually get circles.

It exists- WMO and majority of mice with old sensor. I have A4tech X-760H with adns 3060 sensor, it feels and moves in-game view instantly, compared most modern sensor mice.

Lower sensor delay is better and allows "aimbotting" between targets(even with laggy 60hz monitor), changing directions instantly, and ultra fast flickshots.
Medium to high sensor delay can work fine for pre aim/tactical fps like CS, casual shooters like CoD/BF, single player games, RPG and 2D aim games.
But gaming experience is more enjoyable with low latency.

Source? I'm pretty sure even our beloved wmo has mouse smoothing, albeit very little. I know it may make little to no difference in aim but because of the fact that no mouse on the market exists without smoothing you can't really draw any conclusions.

About micro seconds, he never claimed that dcp latency measures total input lag.

I noticed difference from hpet and eist/cstates, pre-render, different games and mice before him. Its not like I got input lag aids from him and gone mad =D

as soon as load is detected max clock is set and stays at it when a game is launched or played.
same with audio sequencing, it used to cause all sorts of problems in the p4 era.
I leave it on now and it causes zero issues for me even with overclocks.
maybe poor bioses cause more problems.

When I upgraded system to z68+2500k, reinstalled and booted into Windows, I instantly noticed that mouse is sluggish compared to old amd system. I went and disabled HPET, as it caused delay even on old 2007 amd board, helped, but still didnt feel as good. Then I remembered one "tweak" I saw without any mention of latency, to disable c1e+speedstep and it worked.

On my system dynamic CPU frequency has it has no performance hit in benchmarks and game fps, but input latency becomes noticeably higher.

Some people are just more sensitive to input lag as others.

I see your mistakes.
1: your implying you have a better feel for input latency. (input lag aids confirmed)

2: the real answer is that some mainboards are stable with dynamic cpu power features .
they have well written, well configured firmwares/bioses and have access to key cpu options and acpi functions while others do not or are unstable with the default badly configured hidden options , so have to be blanket disabled.
