There's also the entire freestyle run at the end of f33l. It's only theoretically possible that he pulls off the dozens of moves that he pulls in that clip all in a row with next to no mistakes. Realistically, humans aren't capable of what he did if you ask me -- way too many pixel-perfect strafes and turns around pillars, way too many tough ramp jumps that require you to land in very precise positions right before said jumps to get the ideal amount of vertical momentum without sacrificing a lot of horizontal momentum, and then the double RJ's he did as well are pretty BS. He even rocketboosts himself to the left and out of the inside of the castle in a narrow corridor with tons of pillars to his right on his way through, and not only does he not eat the wall as he comes out, but he manages to start turning relatively sharply to his right the instant he lands in this tight squeeze.

None of the demos indicate anything, really. The accusation of 'replay software' is unfounded, and the use of '+left' is debatable.

Replay software = recording the run and then playing it back. Unfortunately proving it is well, you know, next to impossible, really.

+left is the actual Q3 command '+left' which merely makes your viewpoint rotate to the left based on whatever cl_yawspeed is set to.

This case is most complicated since "pmove_fixed 1 or 0 ?"

And thrust me - it's hardcore cheat in cpm physic. You all are familiar when we have two chemical constituents and none of them are dangerous, but if you combine them ... BOOOOOOM !

This is same situation - +left/+right and a combination of cl_yawspeed allows to do 100% perfect mathematical turns at the corner in cpm physic (also gain speed) by pressing one button. The most important thing here is that you do it always the same , perfect way, there is no place for mistakes. It take years to learn this part of cpm physic skill. Yet using this helper you can be "da pr0" in cpm.

Second thing is that people haxed q3 engine and write a scripts that adjust cl_yawspeed value based on you speed so you can make ALL turns on ALL maps.

Many best cpm players (eg Arca, ZyaX) have no doubts that this is unfair advantage (even without scripts that adjust cl_yawspeed) and there are no place in Defrag for such things.

Good that it was forbidden at Defrag Servers.

It's not watching it really. It's recording your movement then playing it back later.

Let's say it's similar. In this case, the tool isn't compensating for any human limitation but rather just saving what you as a human already did elsewhere then using it to playback later. Is it provable? Not exactly. If there were more demos demonstrating the same exact movement and keypresses every frame then it could be argued that he was replaying.

I think what he's trying to say is he's using some sort of macro software where he presses a button and it executes commands live in game rather than rewatching a demo.

That's why he's also been banned for +left. A combination of +left/+right and cl_yawspeed allows a player to make perfect turns at the press of a button.

He openly did that though? I remember a while ago a bunch of strafers doing it openly and acting like it was just an alternative to the regular way.

And no one from those strafes will tell you that this was a secret for 6 years or more ;-]

Cause you can't disable this. CPM's disabled rj script shit is news to me but it's circumventable, really. This isn't some script, it's a bot that's hooked into the engine itself.

I would guess that, first you make some ''humanized'' script that will run the map for you, record it. Join defrag server and click play, sit back and put your hands behind head and smile. Wait for the software to run the record for you.

So I guess its something like more advanced form of scripting runs.
Pretty many have scripted whole runs or partially scripted runs, but normal scripts don't work 100% of time.

Think it's a bit more complicated than a mere script. ;) Fairly certain if he did use replay software it'd all be in the engine anyways where reliability isn't really an issue.

Freestyle runs are almost always scripted in some way, shape or form. I remember watching very early runs from him and his mouse movement was too mechanized and robotic to be humanly possible. I still see that to this day It's timescaling paired with pre-recorded mouse and keyboard binds. Camping_Gaz_14K did a couple of those just as a proof-of-concept. Some of w3sp's runs were scripted then played back, 'cause he got greedy and was in a little over his head.

Since this was bumped, I'll ask here. How does one go about recording mouse movements while the game technically read the mouse as 0,0?
