Guess I might be somewhat of a beer snob, even though my general knowledge of different types is poor, I often have a hard time drinking "regular" beers like pilseners and lagers, at least the common types here in Norway. I often buy more specialized types like India Pale Ale, Porters, American Red Ales, etc. As for specific brands or names, we have lots of local breweries here that have some good ones, but I doubt anyone here have heard of them. I did go to Belgium this summer though, and ooooh man, that was beer heaven. So many brands and types, Duvel, Rochefort, Kwak, Mort Subite, Chimay, even brands that are considered rather cheap there (I think?) like Leffe and Westmalle, all oh so good... not to mention that a bottle of a delicious strong beer there cost like a fourth of what a regular, piss-tasting pilsener would be here.

20-30 dollars? Yikes, that's even more than you'd pay over here for a similar import beer. Yeah Duvel is pretty good, but there are definitely even better Belgian beers.

This general conception of beer is very similar to my hometown, but here we have the excuse of the lacking of beers because here is very hot. But fortunately it seems that people are bringing these beers to Recife too.

The most common are probably Hansa and Ringnes. They brew different types of beer, but mainly pilseners. Very average.

There are many other breweries that produce very nice beers, like Nøgne Ø, Ægir, and Austmann, the latter of which is from where I currently reside (Trondheim). Very expensive though, even more so than a normal pint.

I guess, at least it's very common when mixed in drinks. Personally I'm not too fond of spirits, except for cognac and the odd glass of whisky.

We do usually drink something called "akevitt" (aquavit), a traditional norwegian type of spirit around Christmas times, to more easily down the traditional Christmas food, which is usually very fatty.

When I have the chance I never miss of taking some Cointreau. But it is like a dessert.

Baltika 7 couldn't be beat for budget beer drinking in Russia.. 2 liters for less than 4 USD (144 rub if I remember right).

Zatecky gus, kozol are good, so is pilsner urquell. There's some good local stuff in my state like Sweetwater, Terrapin, Red Brick, Coastal Empire.

I like the more flavored/herb like beers especially when they have a kick like the Grolsch Kanon (probably Canon in non-dutch countries).
But it's all occasion... In bars I pretty much always drink the default Heineken but on a hot day preferibly outside I'm more leaning towards Corona / Desperado's.
In general, in a home like setting, a lot of the Leffe's are really good as well... I've been trying some of those lately but I didn't really pay attention to which was which hehe. They are nice beers to drink occasionally and in moderation but not so much to drink continuously. (I think brown and tripple are my favorites)

At home I usually have Estrella de Galicia Red Vintage, Grimbergen blanche or Hoegaarden (my wife's favourites), Paulaner, Kwak, rochefort 10 and Chimay Bleu.

And sometimes some Brewdog, Mikkeller, spanish craft beer... when I spend more money.

dude i have some friends from Spain and they tell me that the Rum in Spain is so delicious. Here in Brazil it sucks, but i tried in Argentina the Captain Morgan one, so a friend of mine from Aruba told me that there were so many good rums and those that people drink in Spain are great. Hahaha so do you confirm this information? :D

Do you euros get any decent american beers? From what I've heard it's mostly our shit beer that gets sent overseas since our good brewers are microbreweries. These days the market is ridiculously saturated with competing microbreweries, but that's a good thing for drinkers.

I was once in a Polish festival in my town and happened to try a beer called Żywiec. It was the best one I've ever drunken. It was sweet and delightful.

Heinekein otherwise. The only one here in Montreal that doesn't taste like piss.

Polish beers are great, my fridge is currently stocked with tyskie, lech and karpackie.

i like zywiec, debowe mocne, okocim, lech, tyskie, warka. sometimes a peroni but it is a bit sweet. i like also san miguel it tastes a bit like coffee if i dont drink it fast enough and it goes flat.
