I am trying to log in for 30 minutes, launcher starts but my friendlist is empty and i cannot connect to any server. I have the same problem for about 1 week, sometimes I need 50 tries to log in properly. I also can't spawn my own server.
This is sad because my pro subscription is wasted, I don't like that strem release anymore.

Sooner or later they will patch stuff. I use standalone and if friendlist is empty, I delete autologin, if that doesn't help - net_restart, web_reload. Last but not least - pray hard.

it's the end times. the end times have come. i have 10 wmo's left. they should last until the inevitable end of all things.

somehow after having issues like not being able to spawn a server before several tries, or not seeing the buddy list or not being able to connect to a serv, I just restart my quake until my friendlist appears instantly and it usually means I can also join and spawn servers instantly. Sometimes it takes 3-4 times, but that's the only real solution I found for this...

bugs happen when you implement something big.
embarrassing is that there is no statement from id's side.
a simple "we are working on the problem" would be okay i guess.
but as we all know they dont really care about talking to their community.

i thought it was just because im not on steam. friends list constantly restarts and acts strange. often i will have to log in and then log out repeatedly to even join a server. it will just give me an endless "awaiting connection".

the server browser will sometimes bug out and show one server up globally, then other times servers pop up then disappear. in-game bugs like delayed sound while specing and obits that are often delayed by a few seconds. makes duel pretty strange.

once i cant join servers anymore i usually just give up for the night.

Right now it is completely broken. There are matches but I can't join any of them. There is no playlists in the play now feature and the browser list is very buggy. In other words I can only play practice matches with bots.

pretty good display of current id software quality right there. after tom hall and john romero left their games losts their souls and became carmacks tech demos and now that hes gone too their are not even that. the only really working part about QL is its underlying 10y+ old engine.
the slow and gloomy demise of a titan. its sad.

I found that calling web_reload, then sitting in a practice game for a minute fixed my problems yesterday for whatever reason.

It looks like all of the Aussie servers at least are down for now, though. I have 9 friends online idling, or in practice matches.

Same here. Half of the time, players disappear from my friendlist when I start talking to them. It takes ages and countless tries to launch my server. QL crashes 50%-70% of the time I launch it - since the update, it's never launched successfully on the first try. I also often cannot connect to my own server after spawning it, getting an endless "awaiting challenge" message instead. It's a disgrace that there has been no official word from ID on this.

Yep, also keep getting Authentication issues when trying to connect to a server.

Sometimes if my quake is idle for a while and I come back to it and get into a game then I get FPS drops and need to restart my quake.

Cancel your premium membership as they don't ever have premium servers open anymore and you still get the nice scoreboard and votemap option now with normal membership.

I agree, WTF is going on with this game. This is pretty outrageous. Have to try 10 times to spawn a server, barely any free public servers, friend list is bugging out, a lot of the times I can't even join a server.

And I haven't read one single statement by one of the guys behind QL. This may be because I don't check their twitter and stuff, but at least FIX the normal standalone client (I don't use steam) so we can see the latest news (right now it always says latest news not available or something)

Cool, let's pay ID to update quake, send it to steam, completely fucking break it, allow people not to host servers, can't join games and charge them $$$$$$$$$$$ per month for features they think they're getting and not even offer a free month or so to compensate for their own incompetence.
