Archive.org released over 2000 games for MS-DOS that can be played directly in your browser.

After releasing Internet Arcade which let's you play arcade games and the Console living room, including 2,300 cartridges over 21 consoles, now they're giving us all the MS-DOS classics for free.

From Duke Nukem 3d to commander keen, Super street fighter, Lotus, The lost vikings, prehistorik, wolfestein and more. I'm sure you'll find a familiar title from your childhood.

Is this actually legal? Some of those games are still being sold on various sites so they are not abandonware?

This is completely legal because archive.org acts as "library" of sorts and is making sure things remain in archive. They also collaborate with DMCA.
