Evil is more calculated aggresion type of a player while av3k is more "in ur face" type + sometimes rushing without thinking/from the spawn and makes it work sometimes(a lot of times actually, atleast to some extend) with surprise and skill. Evil was more like av3k in the past, but now he is smarter in his +f.

it's a very complicated question to answer.
But all in all with the LG at 6 dmg prime av3k is by far favorite to win in a bo7 (probably taking home 5 - 6 out of 7 maps...) on lan.

I however haven't seen a prime av3k in QL for ages... Must've been before shitmania got released that we saw that :D

Would you care to elaborate on the complications? Reasons why av3k would not just win but dominate evil?

I don't think that 'dominate' would be a correct term...
It's not like any map will have extremely large differences in scores.
But it's difficult to elaborate on the complications because there are tons and tons of if's then's percentages etc.

In general Evil is slight favorite for mid-long range fight (by which I mean that Evil will probably continually win all mid-long range fights but not by much) while Av3k is heavily favorite at close-range fights.
Av3k should be able to always get out of mid-long range fights due to his extraordinary dodging skill, and thus eventually Evil will have to come close range to finish him off. (Part of not finishing him off on mid-range is due to the LG tune down)

As soon as this happens however Evil will take a lot of damage and Av3k will respawn.
From this situation Av3k has a lot of freedom to pick and choose what he wants to do (because he is so allround).
Evil is not really able to be (highly successfully) aggressive with other weapons than LG. Leaving Av3k with enough room to do what he wants.

Now the chance of Evil keeping control after such a situation is around 60 / 40.

This is why you think that Evil is such a high favorite.

However(!) if Av3k can get a reasonably clean kill after he respawned (which I expect would be in 15~20% of all fights), then all he needs to do is guard the LG and pick up items.
And he can just consistently be aggressive onto a fairly helpless Evil.
Av3k just needs to make sure that he's always around 50 ~ 100 hp above Evil as then Evil can't do enough damage mid-long range to reverse the roles.
(So Av3k can, in that situation, afford to continuously lose fights while maintaining control of the map)

So from the start of each map Evil is favorite to take the first few kills... But as soon as he loses a fight big, he will be screwed.
As long as he wins fights (big or small) not all that much changes.

Because both of them are extremely aggressive....... There will be a lot of fights..... Eventually the above happens. Depending on how far into the match it happens will most likely give you the winner.

If Evil were to take it slow, he would probably win. But you and I both know that ain't gonna happen :D

I think you're right in that Evil has the better lg. Av3k takes the edge in close rockets.

I think their other weapons are pretty equal. Both can and will do aggressive pushes off spawn with plasma gun or rocket if their stack is somewhere near their opponents.

Both have great dodge.

Both have decent but not great timing.

If av3k can play the close rocket game then i think you're right he can take evil. But does he have the map control to deny evil items and lg?

This was really shown in the 125fps how cooller beat evil with defensive play + dealing damage on items from superior position. Of course cooller made ridiculously good rockets and rails. What impressed me more was how he constantly kept track of the order, if not the times of all the major items.

Rapha has had great success against evil and av3k with this defensive positional style.

But i think you're right av3k and evil won't want to play the defensive game against each other.

Av3k has among the most enjoyable mouse movements though. I remember somewhat back in the days when suddenly demos from av3k appeared and everyone was blown away by the providy and how beat good players (even cooller afaik?!) on dm6.

I dont agree. I remember moving his mouse at dreahmack 2010 - it was soooo slow. He just does these sudden movements and it looks so fast.

But he has a very unique style of moving his mouse for sure. But not the most appealing to me.

Threads like these are so horrible because they're 100% speculative and 25% biased without any proof/result possible, I usually just click and be embarrassed as well.

What makes avek so great is that he isn't super aggressive all the time but can hide for half the duel and don't show himself and the surprise you with plasma.
