You finally did your research, I'm impressed. I've yet figure out how someone could find that out when I currently have 4 houses which means I have 4 different locations I could be in at anytime. I guess this location would be the most frequently one associated to that account.
Yes, I do act pretty egocentric and that comes at a cost of low popularity on the internet, which is well compensated by my successes in life. So it all balances out for me. I don't act the same everywhere though. Slendie was intentionally banned and I'm glad. the strange thing is, i deleted that account a few months ago.
No prob. And I think QL doesn't delete banned accounts. They probably reason that someone else may pick up your name and get wrongly banned simply for being confused for the actual you.
no, I deleted/deactivated the account months ago before the ban. But it's cute when someone actually calls me out. There seems to be two people on quakelive who know my identity and that would be you and pharton, unless you actually got the tip from pharton.
You are the way you are... I don't know you but If you think its worthwhile to spend your time and energy trolling online (or what ever it is that you do) and being an asshole and therefore "unpopular" the chances are slim that you are a well balanced and happy person in the real world.
Well, I'll take my chances on that one. You have no idea what anyone's state of mind is unless they explicitly stated it. I'm a pretty happy person and no time is wasted, I am doing everything accordingly to a very well-defined plan. I have ulterior motives like everyone else.
interesting generalization that gamers don't dwell in reality...how do you figure? and my comment clearly reflects my understanding that i'm NOT God, as I merely gave my impression ("seems") rather than stating a fact as an omnipotent being.
sry that was actually quite immature from me, but keep in mind not every1 is, materially, off as fine as u are. and that's not necessairily because they are stupid or not working hard. u're in a economically outstanding position, i hope u don't forget there are other fates, and don't stop caring about ppl. some things are more important than buying a 2cnd massarati, and going nuts with money usually doesn't rlly satisfy ppl anyway, as far as i know. (well, as sociologist i recently saw some numbers underpinning that.) remember ur nature. we're all just slightly progressed ape! nothing more, nothing less. 21st centruy life is crazy!
.
work is not rewarded. neither white nor blue collar.
speculation, having money and politics are rewarded, but honest work gets nothing comparatively. Entertainment and inventions can be rewarded as well.
Good excuse. Be like M. Zuckerberg and sport a GTi Volkswagen. Frugality is a trait highly marketable in social networking. Let's see how well you social network here on esreality.
I've got a second hand Alfa Romeo estate, although Alfa call it a SportWagon, I guess because it plays footie at the weekends or something. Obviously it's red, but the spots of concrete on the bonnet are non standard. Everyone stuck behind me on the way to the tip eats diesel fumes and likes it Oh yeah.
I hope you got a manual transmission btw, or it's going to be kinda changing gear for you.....
While they are hyped by all the interwebz, mostly by people that aren't into cars, in practice they are quite unreliable and are a pain in the ass to get them fixed, as Tesla has a severe lack of dealerships and tons of components (if not all) are controlled by software/firmware. In short, it's the same thing that happens with all new technologies.
I wouldn't call them a joke though. Teslas are truly revolutionary and really appealing, plus when considering the context they aren't thaaaat unreliable. If i could afford owning and maintaining one I would cross shop a P85D, or any other Tesla if the government incentives turn out to be great, like in Norway.
On the other hand and as I said, Maserati has been sucking balls for quite a while. For example the stereotypical and outdated mocking to Italian electrics actually still happens with them (or at least 5 years ago).
You mean they can go 2x as far as an electric Porsche that was made in the 1890s on one charge? We sure have come a long way in over a century...
What's really revolutionary about them is how much money they can for every car they sell. A year ago they were only $74 million in the hole, and now they're $184 million. I supposed another couple hundred million from the government can't hurt?
Not to mention Toyota just sold all of their shares. Maybe they know something?
I haven't looked too deep into their technology because I'm simply not impressed by it, but I'm pretty sure batteries lose a massive amount of efficiency in the cold.
It's revolutionary because it's the first electric car that's attractive and that works.
You see, 90% of the previous electric cars look like hideous concepts, such as the Miev and the Leaf. That immediately discards them. Then there was no reason to buy the other 10% because the petrol cars of their time were much better in every possible way.. Tesla changed that.
Then there's the issue of range, speed, access to repairs in 5-10 years and all those other factors we demand on cars. The Teslas are the very first mass marked electric cars that are practical to use and, most importantly, practical to own.
That governmental funding and incentives comes really handy to both sellers and to buyers too. For sellers it's an incentive to keep on developing the technology that will be used in cars in the future, since petrol is not staying in the 22th century. Without that funding companies and investors wouldn't be into "wasting" that money themselves. For buyers it lowers the prices of the final product, a great one at that. That's why Teslas do really well in Scandinavian countries and I can assure you any Tesla is most likely a better vehicle than what your daily driver is, and better than anything Maserati offers today, so buyers are happy.
Are you saying that Tesla's are revolutionary because they look cool?
There have been working electric cars for 120 years. The technology has barely changed. I maintain machinery at my factory with all different shapes and sizes of electrical motors, but once you break it down, they're all the same. They also don't last very long. It will be interesting to see how many motors are garbage from the Tesla factory in another 5 years. Perhaps another recall?
Electric motors the way everyone makes them is crazy expensive, but people like Cedric Lynch have been doing it out of their garage, with more efficient designs, at a fraction of the price, for decades. Tesla isn't doing a whole lot different. Musk isn't great at building a car, he's great at building hype.
What I would be impressed by is seeing railroad technology in cars. A small diesel motor to power the electric motor. They are insanely efficient. 1 gallon of fuel can carry 1 ton of cargo 209 miles. CSX railroad claims they can carry 1 ton 450 miles.
PS. Do you realize that back in the 1900s, electric cars were so common that there were free charging stations in New York City every couple of blocks?
As for government incentives, etc, I'm pretty sure losing $100+ million in 2 years is great for shareholders. I'm also fairly certain they were actually bailed out for $650 million at one point.
That was a loan that apparently they have already paid off even though they're about half of that in debt. There was another time they actually were bailed out that I can't seem to find a source for anymore. A year ago it was easy to find articles all over about it.
I agree that it sounds silly from a technological point of view, as Teslas aren't much revolutionary in terms of technology (except the P85D), but it makes sense from a mass market business point of view. No one had attempted that business in that scale and in a well executed manner ('hype' included) in around a century, and that is revolutionary by itself, maybe more so than the attempts of a no-name company no matter that their designs might be more efficient.
Rofl Maserati, thats not a car just a joke.
Thats maybe a car if you wanna go to your garage to drive in a real car.
Im not gonna say what i am drivin but be sure thats a real car from Germany.
Because i dont want the hassles of searching a place to park, dealing with street rats that say want to clean the glasses when in fact theyre seeing if theres something to steal, paying a insurance that if i ever need it the insurance company gonna do all they can to not pay anything or wait months to do it, paying overpriced gas that pollutes this wonderful planet, having to go to jail if i kill a stupid biker/motocycle driver that think are immune and do all kind of bad driving choices, being worried if i hear an alarm sound and having to go out to see if its my car, and most importantly, ive evolved to not need material items to feel more worthy *cough* *cough*.
