In the first round, competitors are paired either according to seeding or randomly. A seed is a preliminary ranking that can be used in arranging a sports tournament.
High Seed - A High Seed is awarded to the top ranked players/teams, as determined by previous tournament experience. When indicated by numerical values, ‘1’, ‘2’, and ‘3’ are examples of high seeds.
Low Seed - A Low Seed is awarded to low ranked players/teams, or participants lacking previous tournament experience. When indicated by numerical values, ‘32’, ‘31’, and ‘30’ are examples of low seeds.
In subsequent rounds, competitors are sorted according to their cumulative scores and are assigned opponents with the same or similar score up to that point. Some adjustments may be made (...) to even out advantages a player may have due to chance.
All participants must check-in to the tournament area by Thursday, July 23rd at 10:00am. Following check-in, all participants will be required to attend a Player Meeting to review the tournament rules and address player questions and concerns.
