That's actually a good point. It's amazing how so many software companies keep worsening their programs/webpages by every update. Seriously, everything has to be so fucking massive that we users can’t keep the overview, and for what? “Innovative design” (lmao)? Tablet compatibility? Youtube and Skype are especially bad at this. For ever skype update NO new features are added, not even completely fundamental ones like the ability to set the volume (and mute) for each member of the groupcall. But at least we do get shitty design with big fat boxes and list of contacts taking up the entire fucking window. Excellent!

Works nice, great to have access to way higher bitrates and "transcodes" for all. Only miss being able to see who's watching (if they're logged in).

Unrelated to YT though, absolutely fucking unplayable while streaming, the tiny input lag that sneaks in is so unbelievably frustrating. Will have to stick to streaming something lightweight (as in, even more lightweight than a decade-and-half old shooters) or something where no precision is required.

I gave this a try and it worked ok, installed OBS and fired up YT and it all works flawlessly and without any hassle.

The only problem is that it's kinda uplayable.

I was able to stream some matches though.

How bad was the input lag?

I couldn't really move, 999'd :)

Then again, my connection is more DL based, I have so little UL that streaming simply isn't an option for me, even with lowest settings.

As of right now, i'm testing this out, making sure everything gets ironed out and all of that

if anything ill start streaming more here until i get everything figured out. Mostly Quake, CSGO or any other game i can think of.

I streamed some yesterday at 1080p60FPS@9000Kbps, no problem at all. Users can select their own viewing quality like on normal YT videos. All streamers get this AFAIK, not like on Twitch where you need to be a partner to get this. So for me it's better already, cause if you can't go 1080p60FPS, just go home :P

But really, seems very good to me. And no need to upload to another site for later, like people uploading to YT after the stream on Twitch is over.

to be precise: each eye can only handle a max of 12fps but because of the SLI cortex right behing the retinas they alter each frame so you can get this stunning 24fps experience.

I play TF2 and GTAV/Online mostly. At 60 FPS it looks quite a lot better with 9000 compared to 3500, it's not hard to spot.

That's the nice thing about YouTube, the viewer can change the quality to what they want, all streamers get this as all can be partners. And I would think most people can handle the data.

Watched a few streams and the 1080p60 is really nice.

Better infrastructure, anyone can get partnered, transcoding without having to be partnered, low latency streaming (5-10 seconds at best compared to twitch's 30seconds).

I haven't seen a 30 seconds delay on Twitch in a long time.

Tried it yesterday, had 25-30ish.
Then again i was pushing 1080p 60fps for whatever reason so that might be why. :E

If you end up buffering, you will start back from where you were in the broadcast before the pause so if you buffer often or for too long you can end up with a large delay (eventually it will just make you catch up instead). Perhaps this is the reason?

nope, started the stream ,played a sound and just counted.
I had no buffering that i could tell off outside of the stream starting on the page.

I guess i could try this with lower bitrate and compression and see if that makes a difference.
