You may not want to get the g400s because it has a much higher lift off distance so it would take some time to get use too. There is nothing wrong with the accuracy. I would recommend just getting one of the new Zowie evo mice.

darn i just bought it. Should i return it and get the zowie? i ask because my zowie mouse now randomly jitters or moves by itself like the sensor is flawed or something idk. and im getting very good at the game on it despite that but now im on totally different internet, desk, surface, new monitor and everything so its gonna throw things off of course. I noticed that the g400s is also a tiny bit heavier. is one more accurate than the other? Ron bronson suggested this mouse to me.

In my experience the G400 is one of the best mice for gaming. Assuming you like the shape of course. There are two different versions. One with drift control and one without. You can tell them apart by the sticker on the box. If the transparent sticker on the box has "Logitech" on it there is no angle snapping. If the sticker has nothing on it there is angle snapping. If you don't remember you can check the PID. If it is lower than LZ13333 it has angle snapping. This is preference of course. I prefer to play without angle snapping because just like I wouldn't want my paintbrush snapping angles on the canvas I wouldn't want it happening in my FPS. Some people have complained that 1000Hz unnecessarily strains your system. This may be true for old hardware I don't know. I recommend keeping the G400 at the default DPI since it's the most stable one.

By the way you shouldn't install software for either mouse. That might explain the behavior of your Zowie ec2.

Zowie has never had software for there mice. Just a dpi button on the bottom. You change the polling rate by holding certain button combinations while plugging the mouse in.

Early version of g400 had it and it was removed.

mouse doesn't have an angle-snapping behavior. To put it in a general statement, the G400s Optical Gaming Mouse model is basically designed without the angle-snapping behavior.

The conditions of having to know the PID code of the mouse first only applies to some specific batches of the Optical Gaming Mouse G400 (please refer to this post thread). BTW, I've sent you a PM with regards to this one. Please check your Inbox.

Although there are some Logitech G-Series gaming mice that has an option to enable or disable angle-snapping feature in LGS (like my Gaming Mouse G500, which I prefer not to enable), this behavior was completely removed even in the LGS settings of the G400s mouse.

I mean, it's a great sensor in that mouse, great clicks, low click latency, etc. Same story for the g302, g303, g502, etc. The problem is the shapes are retardedly flawed with all of those mice, unless you have a grip that the oddly placed buttons and awkward shapes somehow don't interfere with.

Sniper button became my mumble and teamspeak chat button, for which it was absolutely perfect. I disabled anything else that was non essential. I used the g400 and the later products since the originals release in 2011 and consistently played my best with them. I can't speak for the g502 as I have never used it but aside from the dpi buttons near the left click on the g402 I never had a problem with the design.

I like the g400 and g400s but there are two flaws with the g402 the cord and the shape isn't as comfortable as the g400s but the g402 does kind of force a better grip for aim. The comfort may not be an issue for most people but my hands get sore easily because of the cold weather around the great lakes.

The g303 is not a good mouse imo. The sensor just doesn't play nice with the shape and there have been a lot of problems with it. Also there have been way too many reports of inconsistency with g303. I don't know if it is the shape or what but I would not get a g303. Oddly in the g502 that sensor works fine from what I have read about the g502.

g303 shape is garbage but apparently it is marketed towards MOBA players so that doesn't surprise me.

I would like to add that some people have really liked the g303 for fps games. Basically if you don't get one with loose parts and you like the shape there isn't anything really wrong with it. I am just sour about this mouse because, the first one I got had part of the sensor lens loose which is just unbelievable and it took Logitech literally like two years to fix the surface calibration for this sensor which is also in the g502.

I have one problem with the g400s (and all previous MX518 shaped models), and that's the shape. The sensor is great and the build quality is good, but i just absolutely hate the shape. I wish they went for more of a mouseman shape (The ball mouse predecessor which I still own - http://www.engadget.com/products/logitech/mouseman/wheel/)

Due to that, I will probably never use another heavy logitech mouse again, they just won't change the damn shape.

I use the g400s right now and it's a great mouse! I personally love the shape of the mouse especially the thumb rest on the side. And of course the sensor is awesome. Not sure about the ec2 evo but I have a Zowie Fk1 I was using before this which is another amazing mouse, but I prefer the g400s (and all of the other similar shaped mice from Logitech like the g500 etc.) I have the software for the mouse installed with 1000hz polling rate and 400dpi, all is well =)

As many others above said: g400 is a perfect mouse if you like its shape and weight (~105 grams)

i already ordered the g400s, i liked the zowie since im used to it but now with a new desk and actually using a mousepad (was just using wood before), now i have to deal with new coefficients of friction and so forth...i figure even if i got a zowie again, and i keep hearing problems with them as it is, i think it might serve me better to start fresh and go from there. i am a bit worried about the high lift off distance though?

With my sens and accel now, i kinda like the lower lift off?

Is this gonna take awhile to get used to i guess? How would it fair with really high accel and mediumish sens?

I wouldn't worry too much about friction. My Zowie slides better on my cloth pad than it does on the kitchen table surface that is underneath it. Even if it feels sluggish at first, it's pretty easy to adapt if you're making the same muscle movements.

I’ve owned the G303 and sold it and regret selling it and then purchased it agian. I have small hands tried every too gaming mice. I have been playing fps games for over 15yrs. In my opinion you can get a bad g303 or end up with a winner but for me I purchased 4 models and the only issue I had was a slight rattle coming from the wheel. And the other from the sensor that had a slight rattle as well. I own the Zowie Z-13 /FK2 -EC2-A and newt sensor model EC2-B and the EC2-A and EC2-B are my favorite but more the EC2-B with better option to change polling rates rather than plugging in the mouse while holding a button which to me was an awkward way in my opinion. The G502 is a good mouse but more for mmo players or fortnite players because of the extra buttons . The g502 is bigger and heavier not my style for fps . My top 5 mouse for 2018 are Zowie EC2-B /EC2-A /FK2/ZA13 /G303/G402
