Cheers bud! I agree on the over edit a little bit, music is the hard one, can't satisfy everyone and yeah, I need to turn off the bloom + it's placebo effect with the aspect ratio since the letterbox gives it a stretched look.

Crazy how 95% of the textures makes the game looks so slow

Yeah, most of the maps do not have any art or meshes applied to them due to the fact that they were just done this month/last month. Hopefully they will have proper art soon.

I imagine the only reason people play reflex is they want to be the best in a game similar to the one they couldn't be the best. And in reflex they have opportunity to be so by not having top quake players devoting thier time. Because why would you want to play defrag with no textures when there already is a superior version of it?

1. I forgot that Vo0, Hal, memphis, gaiia, gelle L-2, kyto and many many others players are completely shit.

3. Why are we playing Reflex? We play Reflex because we want to support the AFPS genre and the hard work that's coming from TurboPixelStudios (Newborn, Electro and Shooter). Q3 is dead as it is, barely anyone plays it at the very moment. Quake Live was ruined by Sync and Sponge and unlike them two, Reflex devs do care about the community. The game has frequent updates, about once a month. We have a Discord channel which allows us to be in touch with devs 24/7, literally. They always get heavily involved with the community and they make sure that not only they do what's best for the game it self but what's best for the players. For the past few weeks, Reflex is getting more recognition from TF2 and CS:GO players which results in them actually sticking around. We also have monthly tournaments with prizes.

P.S. By your anonymous comment I can only assume that you tried Reflex, got completely dragged around the floor like a mop and quit it.

quake live is great. sadly reflex won't ever be as good as quake, not in terms of gameplay nor in playerbase. if it only wasn't a cpma remake.

Let's not delude ourselves: Q3/QL hasn't "mattered" for 10+ years. Compared to "real eSports" titles, you can put Q3/QL and CPM into the same category: dead. The players who were the best when Q3/QL "mattered" (when prizes were substantial, tournaments regular, and the game new enough to attract a steady stream of new players) don't play anymore.

The sad thing is seeing a community hoping that Reflex fails. Such a cynical and bitter attitude to have about a game no one is forcing you to play says more about you than the game. The ironic thing is seeing that same community relentlessly whine, year after year, about any change to their sacred cow of a game. Duels of 15min vs. 10min, LG damage, chainjumps, etc..

I'm a fan of all Quakes. I hope Reflex does well. I don't need to tear down one game to prop up my preferred game.

I'm not hoping for reflex to fail, but I am pretty sure it will as it's a standalone game of a niche mod of a niche game. Actually, don't think any AFPS will be big, or even relevant ever again sadly. Maybe ut4 proves me wrong tho. I hope so.

Also, if prize money is all that matters, Vo0 won more tournament cash playing Painkiller than most of the "best" QL players combined.

el-pajuo was raping the best vq3 players when he went try hard, Vo0 has done very well against vq3 players but never played as seriously as he did PK, and same w/ gellehsak B) the other guys you mentioned all have exceptional mechanical skills, but just couldn't be arsed to play vq3 because they didn't find it fun, which is all it's about. VQ3 players also have a long history of doing well in cpm, because they are, at the end of the day, very similar games ;)

elpujuo(probably a top 5 player ww at his peak. not bad for a cpm pleb)
gaiia played a bit of ql during his cpm days. i think he has the talent to be top 5 if he wants too. hes only like 15 years old, ffs.

no clue why vq3 fanboys still like to exaggerate the 'failures' of the cpm scene. the more serious players have all done pretty well, all things considered.

Nope, i've never played reflex (should be free until full release with textures and stuff) since i've always prefered vq3 over cpm. Looks like that alpha stage game...Same old quake (weapons, mechanics but maybe better netcode?) kinda forgot what name it was... I know Insan3 played it more than once since he was only one decent in whole game. I'm not all like 'reflex is shit, why would you play it'. It just seems like those mobile games where you build castles and train army, all are EXACLY the same but different graphics, people programms shit making copies of other games just to gain money on someone's else idea. I don't like it. I can support something creative but reflex isn't at all.

Really liked it. The trippy music and the minimalistic neon maps go hand in hand and just work together so well. Reflex itself looks really fresh to me and is, to me (again), the next best thing we have going in terms of arena fps. I would welcome a vq3 movement option though :)
Still i agree with what someone said above, the maps make it look very slow. This could and should be improved.

All in all this movie made me make the first post since years here. For that 10/10. :)

Why did you stop playing WSW?

Well, I was playing race and pickups since 2005/7 and the game died in 2010. As you know, there was still a lot of solid pickups but from 2013 - 2015 there was only few of us that wanted to have good time during them. Obviously there was a lot of fucking idiots trying to ruin the game and everything just turned into pub. Players became very abusive and with such small community already, they completely ruined it. There's probably still some pickups going but most of us left (so did the pickup admin - Slowi) and we're not planning on going back since we have Reflex with a community in which everyone has a mutual respect. A tak w ogole to hej ;)

don't mind esdf, he actually thinks VQL ctf is entertaining (it's not) and is probably bad at CTF that has aircontrol (proper CTF) so it only makes sense that a game that has potential (though not yet realized) is slandered at every opportunity given. He's like megaman3 but instead of essays he posts 1 liners cause he's a poor student right now, but you just wait in ten years he's going somewhere baby, even if it is only to the top of the scoreboard in yet another shitty fucking VQL ctf pickup.

Proper ctf has hook or translocator, not aircontrol :) without hook or such the next best thing (no matter how bad it is) is vql/3 ctf, hate it or love it.

But anyway, I'm discussing with a guy who can't even top a leaderboard on a shitty vql ctf pickup. Also, I post oneliners cause 95% of you people here have OCD and can't focus long enough to read more than one line. I'm a good guy like that. A samaritan, helping retards communicate without obstacles.

I haven't spoke to you in defrag at all since I haven't seen you play much (I stopped being very active in 2010). Some people I was in touch with told me that you cheated in QL and now you hide under the nick of JustQuake. I started spectating you in defrag to see the similarity in the movement. I was friendly in QL to "JustQuake" to see whether he will reveal himself to me and it worked out perfectly. I was in the game with him and some other guy from df talking about DFWC 2014 and whether JustQuake will play in it and that's when I knew that it might be you. On the QL chat (not in-game) I had JustQuake confess to me and say that he is lith but to not tell anyone since he might get banned again. I don't remember whether my ql crashed or whether I restarted it but the chat was gone and I had nothing to screenshot (which I should've done in the first place). I wouldn't make such a hustle out of it if I was trying to frame you lith. There was a lot of different facts pointing that you and JustQuake are the same person which were name in the post. Although I completely agree with you, it doesn't matter anymore. I just didn't like the fact that you cheated couple of times (if I recall correctly) and you still were able to play QL. You may of been framed, no one will know or care at this point so I will apologize for the whole hustle. Moreover I'm not apologizing to get proper rating but I think that it was stupid to accuse someone of cheating with just a small proof. Merry Christmas dude :)
